Under general direction, responsible for product and/or business services sales in order to reach the project profitability and billing levels so that clients are satisfied. Develops proposals, assesses customer needs in order to recommend appropriate products/services. May customize product in order to meet client requirements. Provides technical support to clients after the sale of the product, troubleshoots technical problems. Recommends product improvements to design staff in response to customer feedback. Visits clients in order to present company's products/services. Has thorough technical knowledge of all phases of the activity. Provides guidance to personnel with less knowledge in solving complex problems. Role typically requires more than 5 years of experience.

The Industrial Filtration Product Manager identifies potential IF product opportunities; conducts market research to qualify IF product opportunities; works with engineering to define product requirements and specifications; initiates and manages product development planning and time-integrated plans for product introduction; creates product pricing strategy and price book; supports sales initiatives at the RSM level and develops appropriate marketing strategies. Must have technical aptitude to understand filtration technology and ability to utilize business analytics for profitable growth of our business unit.

Essential Functions:

Determines customers' needs and desires by conducting the research needed to obtain market information.As the innovation driver, you will assess the nature and scope of present IF products against future IF product opportunities by continuously reviewing current product specifications and requirements while appraising new product ideas and/or products.Assesses and report on market competition by comparing Graver's products to competitors' products within each key market segment.Provide actual source data for product line communications to the sales teams and end users by defining product marketing communication objectives.Obtain agreed product market share by working with sales director and site V.P. to develop product sales strategies.Assess customer and product market data by calling on customers with RSM’s and evaluating/reporting on sales call results.Provide information for management by preparing short-term and long-term product sales forecasts and special reports which are focused on our success rate against agreed KPI’s.Facilitate inventory turnover and product availability by reviewing and making recommendations to inventory levels and production schedules.Brings new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with engineering, purchasing and manufacturing.Introduce and market new products by developing time-integrated plans with sales, engineering, purchasing and production.Determine product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing production and sales costs; anticipating volume; costing special and customized orders.Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.Assist sales with developing key segment strategies to further penetrate an account or win new business at desired target accounts in the segment.Define quantitative and qualitative success metrics and constantly evaluate if our solutions and features meet our business goals both before and after their release.Own the product management process: continuously improve efficiency and effectiveness to improve quality and time to market.

Day to day responsibilities:

As available, participate in daily production meetings providing project/product feedback.Communicate directly with IF purchasing, production and engineering teams.Work with CSR to ensure we are meeting customer requirements on a regular basis.  Assist with corrective actions when necessary.Work with quality to understand and implement product improvement opportunities as they relate to customer feedback through our quality system.

Education and Experience:

5-7 years minimum in the filtration industryPrior experience as a product manager preferredBachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical fieldHistory of data-driven decision-making
