What You Will Do
As Product Manager, you will guide a team that is charged with a product line contribution as a business unit. You will create customer delight by improving existing and developing new solutions and offerings that resolve issues for the customer, and enhance profitability for the company.
You will gather the needs of the market to build products, guided but not biased by your transportation experience and your interactions with customers and prospects. You will be able to discern the patterns from feedback provided directly, and via the organization’s other interactions with customers such as support, sales, and implementation. If you enjoy talking to people and they enjoy talking to you then this the role for you.
You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality.
You must be able to communicate effectively and gather information at all levels internally and externally, from the C-Suite to the Trucker. As Product Manager, you will work collaboratively with engineering to define product release requirements that will improve our customers experience. You will work collaboratively with marketing communications to define the go-to-market strategy, and develop the product positioning, key benefits, and target customers.
You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offering, working with the sales channel and key customers.
A product manager’s key role is strategic, not tactical. Their role is determine what we need to buiild, explain what problems this solves, and why anyone would exchange money for this service. Product Managers rely on their team members to determine how the problem is to be solved. Product manager lead through influence.
Primary Responsibilities
Managing the entire product line life cycle from ideation to deprecation
Specifying market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going interactions with customers and non-customers, in person and virtually
Sheparding a solution set across development teams (primarily Development/Engineering, and Marketing Communications) through market requirements, product contract, and positioning
Developing and implementing a company-wide go-to-market plan, cooperatively working with all departments to execute
Analyzing potential partner relationships for the product
Performs other duties as assigned/requested
What Skills & Experience You Should Bring
Computer Science, Engineering Degree, or equivalent Industry experience
3+ years’ of Product related experience
Strong ability to analyze data and present conclusions and ideas effectively using presentation tools, documents and spreadsheets
Abilty to communicate concepts to audiences of all sizes orally or in writing
Experience in Software Development Life Cycle, especially as it relates to a Business to Business
Ability to build rapport and trust with team members, customers and industry partners
Team player committed to the success of the team and our customers
Ability to establish and communicate priority of competing assignments that you are working on with
Abilty to quickly respond to changing market conditions and challenges
Preferred
Experience with Accounting, Enterprise Management, or Transportation Management software as an administrator or Product ManagerExperience with product management best practices/ methodologies/ project lifecycle
Trucking Industry experience
Knowledge and understanding of integrations with 3rd parties using APIs.
Product Management Training or Certification
