As Product Manager, you’ll be responsible for leading the strategic direction and execution of the Marmon IEI portfolio of wire and cable products for the Commercial Infrastructure market segment. In this critical role, you’ll oversee the financial performance of the product and collaborate cross-functionally to drive the success of our product offerings, ensuring they meet customer needs, align with our business strategy, and maintain a competitive edge in the market. The product manager is responsible for strategy, cross-functional team leadership, life-cycle management, multigenerational product plans, new product development programs, commercialization, customer research, and go-to market strategy.
Essential Duties:
Develop and communicate the product vision and strategy based on market research, competitive analysis, and customer feedback.Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of the product and drive continuous improvement.Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing, sales, and customer support teams to ensure alignment and successful execution of the product strategy. Partner to ensure quality and delivery are in line with market expectations.Work closely with Market Strategy and Growth leader to meet and exceed revenue growth targets, maintaining or growing market share and expanding margin.Support/Lead the Strategic Marketing Plan for their respective markets and/or product segments including supporting the development of the annual marketing plan.Lead the product lifecycle management, price setting and management, manage product introduction maturity and sunsetting, SIOP (Demand Planning).Establish pricing strategies based on analyzing trends and results, monitoring costs and evaluating market conditions. Manage special price requests.Communicate product plans, updates, and progress to internal stakeholders and executive teams, providing clear and concise presentations.Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats, and use this information to make data-driven decisions about the product. Monitor and analyze competitors' products and strategies to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for differentiation.Leverage competitive insights to inform product decisions and maintain a competitive edge in the assigned markets.Define the product roadmap, prioritizing features and enhancements that align with business goals and customer requirements. Own the end-to-end product development process, from concept to launch, ensuring that products are delivered on time, within scope, and meeting quality standards.Define product features and requirements, prioritize them based on business value and customer needs, and work with engineering and design teams to ensure successful implementation.Manage new product growth funnel for their respective product portfolio, ensuring product vitality metrics are on track to meet 3-year target.Monitor and analyze product performance, user engagement, and adoption metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.Identify potential risks and challenges related to product development and deployment and develop mitigation strategies to address them.Develop relationships with key customers and participate in closing strategic opportunities along with outside sales team. Attending customer meetings in support of winning new business.Conduct training sessions and workshops for sales teams to educate them on product value, features, benefits, and competitive differentiation. Support the sales teams to pursue new business opportunities. Train and guide new sales representatives on product.Support the development of sales enablement materials such as presentations, case studies, product guides, and FAQs to help sales representatives effectively communicate the value proposition of our products with product marketing team.Domestic and International Travel for in-person meetings with customers and partners and develop key relationships in.These are the general duties required to fulfill the Product Manager job description, not a detailed description of all the work required. Candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration, Marketing or Engineering. Minimum of 5 years of business-to-business sales, marketing or product engineering experience is preferred.Individual must be a “strategic thinker” and have the ability to develop long term plans that incorporate “80/20” focused direction. Differentiation, Innovation, Engineered Solutions and Value Proposition must be at the core of this.Knowledge and experience in the wire and cable industry and/or commercial infrastructure market preferred.Master’s degree from an accredited university or college preferred.Knowledge and Skills Preferred:
