Product Manager – Audio/Video Our AV Product Manager is responsible for managing and driving the Furrion brand, a Lippert company, of audio, video and accessory products for the Residential/Commercial Outdoor division, which includes Big Box and Regional Retailers, the Custom Integrator channel (CI) and more. The current product categories include Outdoor Televisions, Outdoor Audio, Outdoor TV Mounts and Covers, and Home Awnings. The AV Product Manager also works with and mentors design engineers, operations, supply chain, innovation teams and customers as part of a complete AM team to ensure program design activities, goals, and targets are completed on-time, on budget and are successful. Key emphasis is the ability to work in a fast-paced project team to bring AV product solutions from concept through commercialization for customers within the industry. Responsibilities Prepare strategic product roadmaps for outdoor electronics related products and services, including outdoor televisions and audio, based on voice-of-customer (VOC) feedback and industry research Develop strategic plans for growth into related adjacent and transformational areas for Furrion and related space (i.e. lighting, etc.), including defining Furrion’s go-to-market strategy (e.g., good/better/best) Establish and evolve relationships with Customer Integrators (CI’s) to evolve Lippert products and innovate and deliver customized solutions and services, including observations of real-world situations with customers Conduct market research to track end-user feedback Develop innovative solutions to customer requirements for existing and new AV component designs. Define customer product requirements through leveraging tools like customer requirements documents (CRD) and functional requirements documents (FRD) to ensure features fit customer needs (i.e., not overburdened with features, if not necessary) Own the New Product Development (NPD) process for products in the line Lead the cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Sourcing, Quality and Operations through NPD to ensure timely and effective launches, including product training, where applicable. Present prototypes and designs to Sales partners and customers Facilitate innovation prototypes into manufacturable production ready prototypes in coordination with various plants on new designs. Identify and execute on where industry partnerships make sense to integrate applicable platforms/technologies (i.e. home control, etc.) into our products. Work closely with customer service to solve customer technical issues. Ensure compliance with the industry’s safety standards and requirements Ensure products are user and environment friendly Write detailed reports, work instructions and SOPs Attend industry tradeshows, customer meetings and other events, as required Perform other duties as assigned Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Finance, Engineering, Business or other related field 3-5 years applicable, progressive product management experience Aftermarket experience preferred Experience with stage gate product development (preferred) Proficient in app development/usage/interface/GUI Communication of technical issues in simple manner and customer interface All Microsoft Office software including Project Ability to present in front of stakeholders and managers Great computational and spatial ability to solve complex problems Excellent oral and written communication; ability to maintain a professional and pleasant demeanor Attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work on projects demanding fast prototype/production startups Ability to work with vendors, customers and employees Experience in working with high performance teams in a fast-paced environment Ability to sit/stand for long periods daily; position requires some lifting when doing installations on vehicles Preferred Education and Experience Previous experience in the Audio and Visual industry or any stage gate product design experience Experience working with OE customers/customer integrators Experience converting OE products into appropriate aftermarket products Experience in multi-site organization with evolving design and manufacturing needs.
