About the role The Product Manager will oversee the entire product lifecycle for assigned products, focusing on enhancing the profitability of existing product lines and developing new products for the Residential business unit, specifically working with Load Centers. This role involves managing new product projects from conception to launch, generating innovative ideas based on customer interactions and market insights, and identifying solutions to broader market challenges. Additionally, the Product Manager will handle pricing, inventory management, and other daily responsibilities to ensure the success of the product portfolio. Please note that there is no sponsorship for this role. At this moment, the role is hybrid, four days in office, one day work from home. Responsibilities Directly accountable for managing both new and existing products. Analyze, develop, and propose product strategies, including a comprehensive 3–5-year roadmap. Lead the research and analysis essential for the new product development process, ensuring all project deliverables and PAC/Gate requirements are met. Take ownership and manage all elements of the product development process, including product specification, packaging, pricing, and phase-out/phase-in plans. Guide and supervise project teams throughout project development and implementation. Generate Business Proposals and Charters for new product development. Attend sales meetings and visit customers and end-users as required; conduct product training presentations and research. Navigate complex mainframe computer systems to quickly become proficient. Develop and amend market and product intelligence databases for assigned products. Serve as a source of intelligence concerning product and market-specific issues, including the economy, competitors, and business trends via the Internet and appropriate trade publications. Examine and analyze product lines' performance, encompassing profitability, forecasting, and inventory levels. Act in an advisory capacity regarding product information to Engineering, Operations, Marketing, Marketing Communications, Customer Service, Tech Line, and the sales organization. Assist in the development of supporting new product launch material with Marketing and Marketing Communication Managers. Maintain a competitive cross-reference of catalog numbers for assigned products. Provide support to the sales organization and customers on product-related technical and application questions. Qualifications Proven proficiency in managing the entire product lifecycle successfully. Extensive experience in composing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals, showcasing strong written communication skills. Skilled in presenting to groups of managers, employees, and the general public. Self-reliant with excellent oral and written communication abilities. Possesses a unique blend of business and technical acumen, a visionary mindset, and the drive to realize that vision. Applies critical thinking skills to determine the best approach for bringing new products to market, collaborating with engineering, operations, marketing, and sales teams. Ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers. Capable of organizing and managing project teams to support business development and execute strategic decisions. Adept at working in highly confidential environments and interpreting various instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Strong mathematical, analytical, and computer skills. Willingness to travel for meetings or customer visits. Highly developed creative skills and resourcefulness. Above-average proficiency in Microsoft Office tools. Excellent time management skills. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in engineering, other technical field or business field is required. Master's degree a plus. Minimum of 3 years product management experience in the electronics industry, hardware. Experience working with Load Centers or similar products a plus! Working knowledge of manufacturing and operations processes. Experience with regulatory or standards organizations, such as UL, CSA and NOM is a plus.
