Purpose:

The Product Manager manages and is responsible for the profit and loss of their assigned line of business.  For this role it will include Homeowner and Dwelling Fire products. Oversee and coordinate all aspects of the product ensuring activities are properly aligned with company goals, values, and strategies. Manages results through appropriate rate levels, product design, development and implementation, rating segmentation, profile management and marketplace positioning.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

Provides timely, quality, compliant delivery of our products to agents, markets, and consumers. Plan state review schedule and determine and approve the state’s rate need in order to maintain  profitability. Key communicator with Agents, Actuary, Marketing, Sales, Underwriting, and other interested parties for buy in on product reviews.Interpretation and implementation of countrywide product direction for a particular state within line of business.Primary contact for Sales RVP and Territory Sales Manager.Specific knowledge of our system during the quote, issuance, and endorsement process. Work with Underwriting to set the direction and tone of the Underwriting Guidelines for a particular state.Participate in go to market business readiness support.Answer line of business, conduct all DOI complaints, develop Market Conduct research and support, manage premium waivers, and facilitate state surveys.

 

Required Technical Skills:

Strong analytical abilities including understanding of advanced mathematics and statistical conceptsStrong command of Excel and MS Office Suite applicationsGeneral understanding of Pricing Segmentation, State Regulations, Reinsurance, Policy Contract Language, Product Management and UnderwritingProven ability to lead, innovate and make decisions in order to foster and develop more advanced techniques as appropriate for the functional area.

 

Education, Certifications & Designations:

Required: Bachelor’s Degree Business, Finance, Math, Statistics or similar field

Preferred: MBA or similar advanced degree, CPCU and/or FCAS
