Product Manager (I3)
What You'll Do We are seeking an experienced Product Manager to join our dynamic team. You will capture and translate common compliance capabilities across Avalara's global suite of compliance offerings into well-defined platform service features and functional requirements. As a bridge between partners, product and the development team, the Product Manager will help deliver high-quality global software platform components – both for services and user interfaces. Job Duties Responsibilities: Product Ownership: Understand End user Needs Define product value propositions for specific business objectives Manage product investments through their lifecycle by instrumenting and measuring KPIs Analyse and Manage costs to Run the Business Act as the primary point of contact between cross-functional stakeholders and the development team. Understand functional needs across Avalara’s global compliance offerings and translate into common, global service capabilities. Create a product roadmaps, multi quater plans and maintain a healthy backlog, ensuring alignment with stakeholder priorities. Requirements Management: Collaborate with teams to gather, analyze, and document service requirements. Create epics with detailed business outcomes and product outcomes, which can be understood and further broken down in user stories with clear acceptance criteria. Dependency Alignment with other PMs Coordinates the GTM strategy and Operational Readiness Clearly communicate product requirements to the development team. Cross-functional Collaboration: Foster effective communication and collaboration between product managers, architects, development team and other cross-functional teams. Participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives, as well as quarterly planning, to drive execution of your service. Product Vision: Stay informed about industry trends and technological advancements to drive innovation. Understand the overall vision and strategy for your services and align your services and team Assist in evangelizing and promoting benefits of and plans for your services to engineering, product management and business stakeholders. What You'll Need to be Successful Requirements: 1. Bachelor's/Masters degree in Management and/or Computer Science or similar. 2. Proven experience as a Product Manager, Owner or similar role; 3. Strong understanding of abstract concepts of platform software engineering, software architecture, APIs, services and web UIs. 4. Industry experience with tax compliance. 5. 3+ years of experience communicating product updates, milestones, and progress to internal and external partners; with-globally distributed teams. 6. Experience partnering with your development team, balancing their feedback with our needs. 7. Experience with software development processes and methodologies, particularly Agile/Scrum. 8. Ability to balance business needs with technical constraints and drive decisions accordingly. 9. Experience in creating product backlogs and writing user stories. 10. Familiarity with project management tools and collaboration platforms. 11. Knowledge of relevant technologies and trends in the industry.
