Product Manager II, Cloud Observability Platform

The Cloud Observability team owns the foundational services and engine used by Datadog product teams to bring telemetry, observability, and relevant customer data from Cloud Providers into the Datadog platform. The team is responsible for the distributed systems, core platform, and processes that power the industry-leading observability experiences for our customers to monitor their cloud environments. We’re continuously innovating to build cloud scale, reliable, and efficient systems to deliver comprehensive coverage of cloud provider services to tens of thousands of customers. 

We're evolving the Cloud Observability Platform to ingest new kinds of data (e.g. cloud resource information, change events), integrate with enterprise platforms that our customers use (e.g. ServiceNow), and enable Datadog products to provide deeper, actionable, and enriched user experiences in an efficient and scalable way. You’ll join the team at the right time to lead the vision, roadmap, and execution of the next set of initiatives that will make this happen. You will enable the team to raise the bar on scale and efficiency, unlock new product opportunities for Datadog and our customers, and enable high-velocity development for our engineers.

What You’ll Do: 

Define the vision, strategy, and prioritized product roadmap with a customer-focused working backwards approach for the Cloud Observability Platform Work closely with Customers, Product Managers, and (Senior) Engineers to identify new product opportunities and understand how the Platform needs to evolve to meet those requirements. This will require the ability to balance time to market with long-term thinking. Define features, influence decisions, and lead cross-functional initiatives that enable customer use cases and across Datadog products, with acute focus on scale, performance, and reliability. Identify opportunities for increased efficiencies (whether on time or money) to enable high-velocity development for engineers Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the platform and report on them Have executive-level conversations, balancing company-wide business priorities and initiatives while advocating for the technical constraints at play

Who You Are:

You have 3+ years of experience in B2B SaaS Product Management with a proven track record managing (and evangelizing) complex, cloud-scale platforms  You possess a deep understanding (and interest) in web scale system design, software development, and emerging technologies You have hands on experience using multiple services from one or more of the major cloud providers (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) You have strong communication skills and the willingness to present your ideas to technical stakeholders and executives alike, and the ability to link technical work and product roadmap with business outcomes You have a passion for fast-paced, high-growth environment with the ability to deal with significant ambiguity You have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience You are based in New York or Boston, or are willing to relocate before starting the job

Datadog offers a competitive salary and equity package, and may include variable compensation. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
