The Project Manager is responsible for coordination of shelter service partners, data tracking, reporting, and communication with the city.

About the Job:

FULLY REMOTE

This position oversees several priority business projects within DWD’s portfolio, focusing on the improvement of internal, as well as customer-facing systems and programs. This position can also be responsible for managing scope, budget and schedule for large, complex IT and data governance projects and initiatives. The position will also serve as a part of a cross-functional team focused on delivering projects on-time and on-budget.


Daily responsibilities include assisting in project scoping, stakeholder identification, stakeholder follow ups, work breakdown structure, and grant/budget management for the broader team’s initiative. The candidate will also be responsible for overseeing the ongoing aspects of project management, including scope management, resource identification, budget reporting, requirements gathering, scheduling, communicating status both upstream and downstream, and reporting for individual projects.


A Day in the Life:


The essential functions of this role are as follows:


• Oversee multiple projects to ensure proper management towards successful conclusion.


• Manage large enterprise-type projects that involve multiple internal stakeholders or contracted resources.


• Develop, monitor, and maintain project plans.


• Define users and project team members’ roles and responsibilities on the project.


• Define user requirements, deliverables, and approvals.


• Coordinate and monitor activities of all stakeholders to ensure timelines and budgets are met.


• Communicate project status to management and project stakeholders.


• Attend product demos to listen for and communicate concerns and project risks.

• Conduct regular recap emails to various stakeholders. 

• Budget tracking and reporting.

What We Are Looking For:


You’re an ideal candidate if you have a BS degree in Business and/or 5+ years of applicable experience. Experience with state government is a plus. Experience with data management projects and experience with Informatica tool is a plus. Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus.


What You Will Need For Success:


• BS Degree in Business or Information Technology and/or 5+ years of applicable experience. Experience with state government is a plus. 


• 5+ years of experience in project management.

• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.


• Experienced in project discovery and the ability to understand and manage requirements.

• Experience with budget management for large scale enterprise projects.


• Experience with SAFe/ Agile practices.

• Ability to work across multiple functions within the agency to extract information.

• Ability to grasp complex information and distill it across different communication channels

• Experience creating and managing project charters.

• Comfortable with ambiguity, independent development, and tight, multi-faceted timelines.

• Skilled at prioritization, and ability to balance multi-tasking and focused work.

• Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving internal and external customer experiences.
