Position Brief: The Product Managers engages with clients to find the right problems to solve, defines what success looks like, and guides their team to deliver successful outcomes. They proactively identify solutions that are valuable to users, viable for our business, feasible to build, and usable. The Product Manager typically oversees a single product or small set of related products. They are responsible for driving all aspects of the product development lifecycle, from insight-driven discovery and strategy to defining success metrics, planning, execution, launch, measuring success, and continuously optimizing to deliver value.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Insights - Derives insights to support product betsUnderstands end-market dynamics, end-user roles and responsibilities, and the competitive landscape. Makes it a priority to build upon this understanding through regular, direct research and engagement with clients and prospective clients.Responsible for product discovery. Proactively identifies the market and validate the opportunity to prove whether a solution is valuable, viable, feasible and usable before developing it.Uses data to evaluate and inform strategy and decision making Measures what matters. This includes product success metrics (engagement, adoption, stickiness) as well as financial metrics (ASV, support costs, cloud costs)Strategy - Identifies and articulates a path to achieve resultsDefines product strategy, including vision, value proposition and roadmap, in the context of the product line strategy, overall company strategy, and relevant firm type strategiesResponsible for product business case development (investment needs, resourcing, KPIs)Accountable for financial goals, including ASV, as well as adoption and retention goals Partners with Sales and Marketing for Market Validation Coordinates with Pricing team to define product packaging and pricing strategyCreates product roadmap to align cross-functional teams. Shares timelines for delivery of key milestones, including constraints and dependencies.Execution - Delivers on product outcomesAligns a team to deliver on vision, goals, and strategy Plans releases, prioritizes features, defines the work and what success looks like Clearly defines user needs and acceptance criteria. Interacts regularly with development teams to prioritize needs and provide clarity for iterating on solutions.Partners with UX Design to create usable products that contribute to a positive overall customer experience. Collaborates on go-to-market messaging and activities with Product Marketing and Sales Enablement.Sets realistic performance goals for product launches. Monitors metrics and iterates quickly to experiment and optimize. Moves on to the next most valuable problem once value has been delivered.Depending on the scale of the team, Product Managers may be responsible for ongoing product support, including support desk escalations. The PM is expert at troubleshooting their application and knows when to escalate bugs to engineering. They monitor the support costs of their product with an eye towards improving the overall customer experience, minimizing support needs and optimizing usability of the product.Leadership - Inspires cross-functional teams to achieve great outcomesInfluences and motivates teams, without authority, to achieve product outcomes. Bachelor’s degree in STEM, finance, economics, or other relevant field5-7 years relevant experience3-5+ year background in Data Catalog and/or Data ManagementPossesses a product mindset. Starts from problems, goals and needs, and then experiments to uncover the best solutionCapable of inspiring a cross-functional team to deliver on the product strategy and vision. Ability to align and influence engineering, design, product marketing and other stakeholders.Demonstrated autonomy and impact in previous Product roles.Skills & Competencies:
Proficiency in creation and management of Data CatalogExperience of data management principles and technologies such as data modeling, data analysis and statistics to tell a narrative and/or generate data-driven insightsExperience of improving operations by implementing AI/ML solutionsAbility to translate business needs into actionable plan and data requirementsStrong user interview and data collection skills; Adept at leveraging a range of tools and methods and inferring insights from data; Strong understanding of competitors and end-markets informs product strategyContributes to strategy work and supporting analysis; Translates company and Firm Type strategies into specific priorities and objectives for their product.
