How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The Safety Product Manager is responsible for the oversight and profitable growth of Airgas’ Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and RADNOR Branded family of products within their scope of responsibility. Key areas of focus are working with our supplier partners and internal Supply Chain team members, implementing risk management and fostering collaboration with Marketing, Purchasing, Data Standards, Supply Chain and Sales.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

Maintain an expert level of knowledge for the categories managed with the objective of identifying sales trends and new products that Airgas should be promoting to our customers.

Promote brand strategy to achieve profitable growth of our hardgoods by actively engaging our Division Hardgoods Leaders; our Region Associates and our Channel Leaders

Analyze data and market intelligence to identify trends and develop category-specific strategies to optimize sales and profitability. 

Negotiate agreements with suppliers to ensure optimal product availability and cost efficiency. 

Work closely with suppliers, marketing, sales, purchasing and supply chain teams to align category strategies and execute plans. 

Track key performance indicators (KPIs) like sales, profit margins, and market share to evaluate category performance and identify areas for improvement. 

Collaborate with cross functional teams to grow Radnor brand safety hardgoods with product development and product lifecycle management

Leverage Airgas’ various Channels (e.g. Field Sales; Branch; Airgas.com; Total Access) to market welding hardgoods and achieve sales growth

Estimated 50% travel requirement. Willing and able to drive (or have access to transportation), fly, and spend evenings away from home

Strong communication skills

Ability to research and collect data that supports Airgas’ goals and strategies for overall sales effectiveness

Product Management expertise: Deep understanding of product development lifecycle, market analysis, competitive landscape, and customer segmentation. 

Project management skills: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Problem-Solving skills: Ability to identify issues, analyze root causes, and develop solutions.

Product knowledge: Deep understanding of the safety products categories and consumer behavior.

REQUIRED EDUCATION 

Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field 

REQUIRED LENGTH & TYPE OF EXPERIENCE 

3+ years of experience in product management, with a proven track record of successful product launches 

5+ years of experience with safety hardgoods

Preferred 3 years of experience working with or within Airgas &/or Air Liquide

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES 

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power BI and Google Suite.

Flexibility to adapt to new technology, processes and organizational priorities

Experience with developing and building strategic initiatives.

Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team atmosphere.

General knowledge of SAP preferred but not required.

Past record of identifying a goal, developing a plan to execute against the goal, and implementing the plan.

Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders

Willing and able to drive (or have access to transportation), fly, and spend evenings away from home up to 50% travel.
