We are currently looking for our future R&D Project Manager who will be based in Wabtec, Brunnthal

Who will you be working with?

You will be working with the Director of Product Management, and other relevant stakeholders from the product and software department

How will you make a difference?

As a Product Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the development and management of our software products, ensuring they meet market needs and support our company's strategic goals.

What do we want to know from you?

You have a Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field and a proven experience as a Product Manager in a software development environment.You have a strong understanding of software development processes and methodologiesYou have a good command of the English and German languagesYou have strong analytical and problem-solving skillsYou have demonstrated skills in market analysis, competitive assessment, financial modeling, and strategic planning.You have experience working with software technology in embedded Linux and state-of-the-art web technologies.

What will your typical day look like?

Define, lead the implementation, and communicate the software product vision and strategy, developing detailed product requirements and specifications.Conduct market research to identify customer needs and market trends for onboard PIS/CCTV software and wayside tools.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, sourcing, design, marketing, and sales, to develop and launch new products.Create and maintain product roadmaps, prioritizing features and enhancements based on customer feedback and business objectives.Monitor product performance and gather user feedback to drive continuous improvement in terms of time, budget, and quality.Manage the product lifecycle from concept to end-of-life, ensuring timely delivery and quality.Act as the primary point of contact for sales and the technical tender team for all product-related inquiries and issues, and promote our portfolio.Develop well-researched business cases, analyze market viability, and defend these proposals to secure approval from Product Line Management.
