The Product Metallurgist is responsible for a wide variety of activities and procedures throughout our production process. This position is part of a team tasked with the goal of maximizing safety, quality, and productivity at the Sinton location.

Responsibilities Safety conscience individualProvide technical support on product and processes for the operatorsProvide technical support including product and operations information for SDI sales and SDI customersApprove ordersMaintain order validation and premet review program parametersSet internal/external quality standardsMake final disposition on nonconforming materialReview galvanizing claimsDevelop corrective and preventive actionsProvide continuous product and process improvement Qualifications B.S. degree or equivalent in metallurgy, material science, or a related engineering fieldHighly effective communication and interpersonal skillsTravel requirements – some travel is necessary to visit customers, attend conferences, attend meetings at other SDI locations etc
