We are currently looking for a Product Owner, Intrusion Software.  This role needs to be located within a commutable distance to Fairport, NY, but will work in a hybrid model once onboarding is complete.  This role may have occasional domestic travel.

Job Description

We’re looking for a Product Owner to join our growing software team and drive the development of our cloud-native application. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with engineering, design, and business stakeholders to translate high-level requirements into actionable features that deliver value to our customers.

You’ll be responsible for defining detailed requirements, prioritizing the backlog, and maintaining alignment with the broader product vision set by the Product Manager. This is an opportunity to work on a high-impact product.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Backlog Ownership

Own and manage the product backlog—define and prioritize features, epics, and user stories based on business value and customer needs.Write clear and detailed requirements and collaborate with developers and QA to ensure features are built to specification.Refine requirements through ongoing feedback from customers, stakeholders, and internal teams.

Agile Execution

Serve as the Scrum Team Product Owner, working with engineering to maintain sprint goals and deliverables.Lead grooming, sprint planning to keep teams aligned and productive.Manage dependencies across design, engineering, and marketing to ensure smooth delivery cycles.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement

Work closely with the Product Manager to align development with the strategic roadmap.Coordinate with internal UX designers to ensure the software delivers a modern, intuitive user experience.Engage with key accounts, marketing/sales teams, and integration partners to validate requirements and gather feedback.

Requirements Gathering and Documentation

Analyze complex workflows, edge cases, and technical constraints to define functional and non-functional requirements.Document and maintain system use cases, API requirements, and configuration workflows.Drive adoption of best practices for cybersecurity and data handling.Support internal and external stakeholders with training materials, product documentation, and demos as needed.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.3–5 years experience as a Product Owner in an Agile software development environment.Proven ability to deliver cloud-native applications or enterprise software.Experience with Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).Strong understanding of SaaS, API integrations, and cybersecurity principles.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Comfortable diving into technical discussions with engineers and asking tough questions to clarify requirements.Experience in security systems or IoT platforms is a plus, but not required.

Nice-to-Haves:

Familiarity with UX design processes.Knowledge of enterprise SaaS models and recurring revenue strategies (RMR).Experience with cloud technologies such as Azure or AWS.

Additional Information

​​​​​​The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $125,000 to $140,000. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, job location, etc.
