As a PostgreSQL Product Owner at GSK, you will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of the PostgreSQL Database-as-a-Service and related products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our database solutions align with business goals and deliver high performance, reliability, and scalability. Your responsibilities include… Define and communicate the vision, strategy, and roadmap for PostgreSQL database product. Prioritize and manage the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder needs. Ensure Cost, Reliability and Scalability are integral to the PostgreSQL Database Self-Service Product Offering. Collaborate with engineering teams, database administrators, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into actionable user stories and tasks. Ensure the successful delivery of database solutions by guiding the development process, conducting regular reviews, and providing feedback. Monitor and analyze the performance, reliability, and scalability of PostgreSQL databases, identifying areas for improvement. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to PostgreSQL and database management. Conduct regular meetings with stakeholders to provide updates on product progress, gather feedback, and address any concerns. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for PostgreSQL database products, including release notes, user guides, and technical specifications. Lead the implementation of security best practices and compliance requirements for PostgreSQL databases. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration within the team. Why you? Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 6+ years of experience in database management, with a focus on PostgreSQL. Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role in an agile development environment. Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture, configuration, and optimization techniques. Experience with database performance tuning, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. Azure, Google Cloud, AWS) and related database services. Ability to engineer solutions leveraging CI/CD pipelines. Experience of Observability and Logging Tools such as Elastic, Prometheus, Grafana and/or native database monitoring. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, Jira). Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Certifications in PostgreSQL administration or related technologies. Experience with other database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, NoSQL). Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, automation). Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, and data integration. Why GSK?
