Product Owner

A Product Owner oversees the development of products from start to finish to ensure they meet the clients’ needs and preferences. Their main duties include determining the overall vision of products, managing various backlog items and deciding which features each product will have according to clients’ preferences.  They’ll research and determine the clients’ needs to determine which features to include on products and will pitch ideas for product features to stakeholders. Product Owners will then continue to act as the primary contact between the scrum teams, product development departments and stakeholders.

Essential Duties:

\n\nResponsible for innovation and end-to-end launch of products.\nLeads process modeling, requirements, design, and testing to deliver software solutions.\nPartners with Product Manager to provide vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders throughout the project and creates requirements, including creating user stories\nSupervise and advise the scrum team to meet software expectations\nRepresents the customer and works closely with the scrum team throughout the development process, participating in Scrum meetings and product sprints\nWorks with cross-functional teams and various stakeholders, including analytics, design/user experience, engineering, and user enablement.\nPartners with stakeholders and customers across the organization to inform the product vision, strategy, features, roadmaps, and prioritization.\nProvides an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals\nEnsures that the team always has an adequate amount of prior prepared tasks to work on\nManages the product backlog and prioritizing them based on changing requirements\nNurture ideas and solutions to existing customer problems\nCommunicate effectively with team members to achieve project goals\nExtract and retrieve data insights into products with actionable outcomes to the ultimate customer.\nSchedule and lead meetings to identify issues and fixes for projects\nMonitoring and evaluating product progress at each stage of the process\nLiaising with the product team and end-users to deliver updates\nKeep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends\nActs as a leader within the organization\nMay be involved in production support during and after hours\nOther duties as assigned\n\n

Qualifications:

\n\nBachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and 5+ years of relevant experience, or 7+ years of equivalent experience\n2+ years’ experience in product development for particular vertical\nIntermediate SQL and data analysis skills\nIntermediate knowledge of data modelling/visualization and use interface design\nIntermediate reporting skills\nStrong knowledge of Agile principles and process\nSharp analytical and problem-solving skills\nExcellent consensus building skills\nAbility to work under pressure and tight deadlines\nOutstanding written and verbal communication skills\nHigh attention to detail\nMust be flexible and willing to work the demands of the department which may be subject to evenings, weekends and holidays.\n\n
