Product Owner - NW/FCP Drivers
**Introduction** India Systems Development Lab (ISDL) is part of IBM Systems world-wide technology development lab. Established in 1996, the Lab is headquartered in India's Silicon Valley and startup hub - Bengaluru, with a strong presence in Pune and Hyderabad. Developers at ISDL deliver technology innovations across the entire Systems portfolio - z Systems, Power / OpenPOWER Systems and Storage. The team here works across the entire stack from processor design, firmware, operating system to software defined storage. The lab also focuses on innovations, thanks to the creative energies of the teams. The lab has contributed over 400+ patents in cutting edge technologies and inventions so far. While computing veers towards cognitive, cloud, mobile, social, and security, the lab has significantly contributed to not just new products focused in these areas, but has also ushered in new development models such as Agile, Design Thinking and DevOps. **Your role and responsibilities** Owns the product vision and serves as the voice of the customer and user. - Works closely with Design to lead the definition of Design Thinking Hills, recruit sponsor users, attend playbacks, and support user testing. - Works with, and manages, stakeholders and sponsor users through frequent communications. - Prioritize work for the squad(s). - Works with Dev/Design to define an MVP and product roadmap. Works with the squad to define work for each release of the product based on the estimated product backlog and team velocity. - Develops, manages and maintains the product backlog. The backlog includes hills, foundation work, and automation to keep team working efficiently and effectively (DevOps). - Regularly prioritizes the product and release backlog based on business value and user experience. - Participates in iteration planning, showcases, and backlog grooming sessions with the squad(s). - Is available and committed to squad members. - Shares responsibility for squad success. - Accepts/rejects work completed by the squad(s) and decides when to ship the product. **Required technical and professional expertise** * A zFCP PO requires a great understanding of the zFCP driver of the Linux block layer and SCSI stacks and of QDIO * A good understanding of Linux native multipathing, SAN technologies and Linux SAN offerings. * A Linux on Z product owner is expected to be a technical expert in his respective areas who works closely with the Linux Chief Product Owner and Chief Product Manager * Commits deliverables, attend playbacks. Serves as a facade for the team in interactions with external parties (other teams within IBM but also external customers) pulling in specialists as necessary. * Works with manages, stakeholders and sponsor users through frequent communications. * Participates in iteration planning, showcases, and backlog grooming sessions with the team. Participates in Design Councils as a representative of the team. Is available and committed to squad members not excluding deeply technical topics.
