This position is based in the United States and allows for remote work. Occasional travel to our corporate headquarters in Johnston, RI, will be necessary based on business requirements. Candidates should be willing to work during Eastern Standard Time (EST) hours. 

Responsibilities

FM is currently seeking a Product Owner - Platform to join our esteemed Global Platform Engineering Services team, presenting a remarkable opportunity. You will be the driving force behind our Platform Environment build and coordination team, actively engaging with our business and engineering departments to capture valuable requirements that will translate into your backlog and roadmap. You will help to lead the team in the creation of new Cloud and Hybrid environments that support our growing business application teams needs in testing, training, and more. You will help to drive the creation of a new release management process within our environments as well as the coordination of deployments to support the health and resiliency of our shared lower environments. Your expertise in converting these insights into actionable backlog items will be pivotal. Additionally, you will be responsible for crafting a roadmap that showcases the business value delivered by our teams. 

 

A. Product Management  

You will be responsible for up to two teams with diverse skills, ensuring the successful delivery of valuable, high-quality product features and capabilities according to enterprise priorities, product vision, and roadmap. You will collaborate closely with experts in the field, operations, and team members who have extensive knowledge in the business domain to identify product needs and opportunities. Managing relationships with important business partners and users for one or more products throughout their journey will also be a vital part of your role. You will participate in product team meetings for multiple product teams and take charge of coordinating delivery, training, and support plans. 

 

B. Delivery Management 

As the Product Owner, your main responsibilities will include defining the minimum viable product (MVP) and ensuring that the team's backlog is organized, prioritized, and refined. You will play a crucial role in shaping the technology product vision and determining the priority of both functional and non-functional product backlogs. Timely delivery will be a key focus for you. Additionally, you will act as the liaison between the customer and our teams, translating the product vision into actionable features and tactics for our technology products. Effective communication of the product strategy to key stakeholders and team members will also be an important part of your role. You will be setting product goals, identifying success metrics, and breaking down commitments into achievable tasks. Close collaboration with the product teams to understand customer requirements, address obstacles, and ensure alignment with the feature or product strategy will be crucial. 

 

C. Building Relationships with Key Parties 

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of specific projects and collaborating with various stakeholders, including operations users, business teams, and other relevant parties. By championing the needs of our customers, you will play a key role in developing, evaluating, and approving product user stories, as well as leading product demos for our user panel. Additionally, your contribution to team retrospectives will ensure quality and foster continuous improvement within the team. 

 

D. Leadership & Influence 

You will play a vital role in guiding our customers and product teams. Your main focus will be to communicate the value of our product and its features. You will work closely with different teams to prioritize dependencies and ensure smooth implementation. Delivering timely and satisfactory service to both internal and external customers will be a crucial aspect of your responsibilities. You will actively seek and consider input from various collaborators to shape product roadmaps and make informed decisions based on business and customer needs. 

 

Qualifications

 

5-10 years’ experience in business, product management, software development, technology, and/or consulting.  

 

Release management experience in a modern development environment, including setting expectations for minimum requirements to move code from a Development environment to a QA and UAT environment with the ultimate goal of protecting the shared lower environments for all developersExperience coordinating releases with multiple teams and managing the outcomesA servant leader with outstanding planning, analytical, decision-making, organization, communication, and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to influence others and build consensus. Able to make difficult and quick decisions daily with incomplete information for all products across the journey. Deep business expertise or experience supporting business domains to set clear priorities for product and understand business value impacts. Effective communication and collaboration skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to drive projects towards completion. Proven ability to work with all levels of team members and leadership. Innovative and creative leader with experimental mindset with demonstrated willingness to learn and experiment. A technologist capable of leading a mission critical technology product to deliver business value. Intermediate skills in Excel and PowerPoint Strong ADO experience for backlog management Octopus Deploy experience as well as ADO and CICD process experience is a plus

 

Education 

4 Year College Degree/bachelor's or equivalent work experience 

 

 

The hiring range for this position is $130,700 to $187,800. The final salary offer will vary based on geographic location, individual education, skills, and experience.
