How will you make an impact?
The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for incoming inspections, material/instrument disposition processes, and Customer quality for Life Science Mass Spectrometry products manufactured in our San Jose factory. The success of this role is realized by improving product quality measures and increasing customer satisfaction through an extraordinary quality experience. This individual will require effective interpersonal skills with team members and all other departments throughout operations.
What will you do?
Support new product development teams from design feasibility through commercialization to enable operational success through and beyond mass production.Drive a robust First Article inspection program by using the SAP Quality Module to prevent future process and product non-conformitiesLead and encourage a strong product quality culture by establishing and actively driving performance expectations, while providing development and training opportunities.Leverage production and field data to identify, prioritize and coordinate improvement projects focused on improving Customer Experience, Field Service, and Operational metrics.Ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented optimally to address the root cause of quality complaints and failures from Operations and Customers.Proactively engage team members to ensure product or process issues are identified and addressed to meet internal and external customer needs.How will you get here?
Education
Bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred in engineering, scientific, or related fieldExperience
5 years of experience in quality control, quality engineering, or manufacturing engineering with at least 2 years in people managementLeading quality initiatives for new product introductionsProcess improvement, non-conformance management, risk managementValidation process design/validation, change control, and auditing quality management systems preferredSolid understanding of ISO 9001, 13485, or similar quality management systemsAnalyzing technical drawings for specification gaps causing supplier defectsAble to travel occasionally (
