Responsibilities:
Develop Product Safety artifacts for new and existing designs. An applicant must have experience with and be able to contribute to process improvement for one or more safety analyses from either or both of the major safety areas below:System Safety Analysis (SSA)Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)Functional Hazard Assessment (FHA)Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA)Risk identification, prioritization, and managementFlight Safety Analysis (FSA)Trajectory AnalysisDebris AnalysisProbability of Failure AnalysisPopulation Exposure AnalysisFlight Hazard Area AnalysisProvide support and risk advice to production, maintenance, technical, project or program personnelIntegrate your deliverable work and the work of your peers into the process flow and design development of the Program
What you bring
Required Skills and Experience:
B.S. or M.S. degree in an Engineering discipline, Mathematics, or Physics from an accredited university3-5+ years of relevant experience in aerospace or system safety fieldMust have experience and capability to work independently with a fault tree modeling software to model complex systems including mechanical, electrical, and software integrated systemsMust be able to Explain difficult or sensitive information internally and to non-system safety engineers; works to build consensus amongst team members for processesMust have experience with one or more system safety analyses techniques such as safety assessments, hazard development, Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Knowledge of Systems Engineering development lifecyclesExperience developing and validating requirementsKnowledge of software development practices and design assurance methods such as DO-178 or ARP4754 preferredKnowledge of electronic hardware design assurance methods such as DO-254 preferredKnowledge of FAA commercial space regulations preferred, CFR §400.Experience with the system safety methods of ARP4761 or MIL-STD-882, with emphasis on hazard mitigation processesAbility to read electrical and mechanical engineering drawings, to include schematics, wiring diagrams and assembly drawingsStrong troubleshooting, organizational, and written communication skillsTeam player with excellent communication skills both verbal and writtenWorks independently, receives minimal guidance; may lead projects or may have accountability for on-going activities.Range Safety or Flight Safety analysisThe annual U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $85,900.00–$131,050.00. The base pay actually offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, and experience and take into account internal equity.
