The Senior Engineer or Scientist plays a supporting role through both individual and team assignments. In many cases they must apply technical and business knowledge to ensure successful outcomes. They should be able to work with and within cross-functional and cross-discipline teams. They are able to apply system engineering methodologies such as requirements definition, system architecture and integration, analyses, configuration management, and risk management in the design phase of products. At this level, they may also be recognized as an SME in their area of expertise or discipline and support others with both business and technical mentoring/coaching. This level may also require engagement with customers during the product definition and requirements gathering process for bids and proposals. At this seniority level some individuals may be Team Leaders which deliver technically and commercially sound products or services, with guidance, through deploying effective teams from project inception to delivery by setting and meeting project goals and objectives.

Mechanical Engineering is a field that combines physics, chemistry, and mathematics principles with materials science, to design, analyze, manufacture, and maintain mechanical systems. Mechanical engineering requires an understanding of core disciplines including mechanics, structural dynamics, rotor dynamics, thermodynamics, fluid and aero dynamics, materials science and structural analysis. Mechanical Engineers leverage principles from these core sub-disciplines with computer-aided design (CAD), computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), and product lifecycle management tools to create and analyze industrial equipment, or processes such as fluid transport, liquid/gas compression, combustion or heating and cooling systems.

Develops Integrated solutions utilizing products and service components to address customer needs. Components may be specialized for specific applications. Designs AMO and product lifecycle solutions to support deployment

As a Product Service Gas Turbines Senior Engineer, you'll play a vital role for our customers, carrying out Root Cause Analysis for major failures and contributing to the continuous improvement of Gas Turbine portfolio, whilst fostering Company policies and procedures to sustain world-class Quality standards.

As a Product Service Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Leading Root Cause Analysis, cooperating with laboratories (metallurgical analysis, oil analysis), design departments and data scientists.Analyzing fleet data and recurrent failure modes to early identify potential issues’ leading indicators and propose relevant technical improvements.Cooperating with Remote Monitoring Centers to fully leverage data and analytics to support the fleet.Working in close cooperation with Service Technology and Contractual Service teams to manage customers’ technical issues minimizing impact on customer’s production whilst preserving engines integrity.Communicating effectively to both internal and external customersDeveloping new products and services for IET customers.

To be successful in this role you will:

Have extensive experience within Design or Services Engineering organizations.Have a deep knowledge of Gas Turbines design, maintenance and operation principles.Be familiar with Root Cause Analysis methodologiesBe self-starter and prone to get out of the comfort zoneFluent oral and written communication in English and Italian
