Johnson Matthey IT (JM IT) is Johnson Matthey’s global IT function responsible for ensuring that our IT capabilities are not only able to support and integrate technologies but can also work alongside our business units and Corporate functions to provide leadership and direction to provide competitive edge and improved operating efficiencies. 

The role of the Product Specialist, as part of the Enterprise & ERP Platforms team, is to provide functional development, and ongoing support and maintenance for a variety of Global Platforms – ensuring that platforms are current and future business requirements are fully delivered. 

The primary scope of the role covers all Corporate Functions and JM’s Group Services organisation – with the exception of the HR and Treasury functions (which are covered by a peer role).  Whilst the role excludes accountability of ERP platforms, there is a large degree of overlap of functional knowledge and business interaction requiring close partnerships with the teams that do support those technologies. 

The role is responsible for configuration of internal IT applications based on the business requirements and imperatives. Provides day-to-day support to customers in relation to product implementation, customization, questions, and problems.

Your responsibilities:


Stakeholder management & leadership 
•    Effectively partner with the business to understand the business requirements to reflect into engineering reality 
•    Guiding the functional team during delivery of solutions – offering challenge to ensure focus on value delivery
•    Participate in platform governance forums, representing the engineering perspective, and promoting good practice agile working practices, and project delivery 

Technical capability 
•    Design and implement technical solutions. Drive configuration of the applications as per the business requirements in collaboration with JM team and vendors
•    Oversee JM IT and supplier delivery teams during build to ensure functional and technical solutions are developed as per design and support development teams with queries as they occur
•    Act as SMEs of their platform and processes, able to understand what capabilities a platform has to resolve user needs and impacts within a process when changes are proposed
•    Undertake troubleshooting of application issues and resolve the issues; liaison with the software providers in case the issue could not be resolved internally 
•    Resolve technical and service issues of users, escalate wherever necessary  
•    Create detailed solution documentation in line with JM IT engineering and architectural methodology to document solutions for approval at review boards
•    Improve process flow and user documentation for different related modules  
•    Ensure adherence to regulatory compliances and adherence to audit findings; undertake improvements as required

Platform Skills (non-exhaustive)
The Product Specialist will have accountability across a wide variety of business systems and platforms, often hosted externally or provided by business service providers.  Demonstrable experience in two or more of the following key functional capabilities is essential, though demonstrable experience of developing the knowledge and skills to lead across similar systems is acceptable: 
•    Finance systems – tax determination, reporting, BI, e-invoicing, T&E
•    Procurement platforms – Coupa preferred, but other global StP platforms acceptable
•    Environment, Health and Safety – Enablon would be an advantage
•    Product Stewardship – WERCS Studio, Sphera or equivalent
•    Legal – DocuSign, contract and case management, risk and compliance management systems

ERP and CRM systems are out of scope of this role, but there is a high degree of integration between those systems – a working knowledge across such platforms is required.
Business System platforms are generally SaaS platforms, so extensive experience of working with SSO/MFA connected systems and two-way secure data integrations is required. 

Requirements for the role:


•    Experienced business systems professional with multiple full lifecycle platform implementation experience across a range of functional platforms. 5+ years’ experience. 
•    Technical hands-on background of managing and supporting a range of in scope functional systems, or equivalents. 
•    Experience of global business systems support and maintenance, platform governance, control and compliance.
•    Commercial acumen – demonstrable through experience of supplier engagement and management, project and delivery costing.
•    Business focused; able to build strong working relationships across a variety of functions and across JMIT.

The annual salary offered for this position: from €45,500-55,500 Annually. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies.
