Off Platform Product and Operations –  Product Specialist
Job Title: Product Specialist

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION: Off Platform Product and Operations is looking for a Product Specialist (QA) to contribute to our Real-Time QA.
In this role you will be responsible for comprehensively understanding our products and delivery technologies. Key responsibilities include analyzing and reviewing QA/QC requirements, continuous testing for security, APIs, and regression suites, and creating an automation strategy. These tasks are complemented by writing automated scripts, supporting data and environment configuration, participating in code reviews, and meticulously monitoring and reporting defects. These contributions are vital to our continuous improvement activities for the end-to-end testing process. You will work closely with a broadly distributed Content, Product, Strategy, Sales & Support and Engineering group.
 

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must have a genuine interest in QA and be willing to learn Product Management.

 

Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems

 

Required Skills:
•  Strong technical and business skills (including presentation and communication)
•  Experience working in Unix / Linux environments
•  Knowledge of Shell scripting / procedural programming
•  Knowledge of relational database theory, python, data modelling, and query languages such as SQL
•  Strong coding skills in at least one mainline programming language.
•  Knowledge of test automation frameworks built using tools like Cypress, Selenium, or Visual Studio. 
•  Knowledge of API Testing and tools like Postman and Soap UI.
•  Functional understanding of SDLC and Software Test Life Cycle
•  Knowledge of working in Agile and scrum ceremonies
•  Familiarity with Performance testing (using 3rd party or open-source tools)
•  Knowledge of CI/CD

 

Highly Desired Attributes:
•  Ability and desire to do testing on off-platform products like APIs and feeds.
•  Knowledge of analyzing large amounts of data, ideally within relational databases
•  Ability to learn automation frameworks and conceptualization
•  Ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members in other offices
•  Ability to work on multiple QA projects with shifting priorities
•  Knowledge of any scripting language like JavaScript
•  Strong QA skills including planning, exploratory testing, defect reporting and troubleshooting.
