GCG Automation & Factory Solutions is growing! We are seeking an Automation Product Specialist to support the Siemens product line, bridging the gap between our sales team and application engineers.
In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise in automation and motion control solutions (PLCs, HMIs, drives/motion control, and networking) alongside business development skills to drive revenue growth across Missouri, Kansas, and Illinois. You will act as a strategic partner for internal teams and customers, helping expand Siemens product adoption and ensuring seamless technical support.
What you’ll do
Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the Siemens automation and motion portfolio along with complimentary products and solutionsPrepare formal presentations to educate internal and external customers on proposed automation and motion technology and/or productsSupport sales team through on-site customer walk-throughs and product demonstrations for larger, strategic opportunitiesAssist with opportunity identification and closure at strategic customersAssist with technical specification review and determination of bills of material for applicationsPerform field promotional work to secure business in new territories, within new industries, or with customers where full market potential or product line acceptance has not been establishedAssist with local development and execution of product/technology marketing campaigns to drive demand generationDocument all activity in CRM. Prepare and submit periodic reports on activities. Summarize and report opportunity funnel along with probability of success
What you’ll bring
Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred, with 3-4 years of experience in automation, motion control, or general-purpose drives. Equivalent experience without a degree will be considered.Industry Knowledge: Hands-on experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, Servo Drives, and Industrial Networking. Siemens product experience preferred.Communication & Sales Acumen: Strong customer-facing skills, including technical presentations and training.Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Salesforce or comparable CRM is a plus.Travel Flexibility: Ability to travel 30-40% within the MO, KS, IL territories.What we offer
