We have a fantastic opportunity for an energetic and committed Senior Chemical Management Consultant in order to support of all business units and/or the Corporation in compliance with global chemical inventory requirements and related regulations to enable sales of new products and maintain the right to operate with existing products. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional to interface with business leadership as well as create processes in support of aggressively growing businesses.

Responsibilities for this position include:

Develop & guide high level regulatory strategy and ensure timely & accurate submissions relating to EMEA chemical management requirements at both European and country levels (eg, EU REACH compliance, GB REACH, Turkey REACH etc.).  The individual in this role is:Responsible for all aspects of obtaining and maintaining registrations and compliance listings (chemical inventories and other positive lists)Actively engaged in data collection, analysis, preparation of documents, and submission of data to regulatory agencies.Guiding compliance to REACH program requirements, including strategic direction of submission activities, and chemicals reporting (nano, PIC, SCIP) and Substance of Concern management.

Monitors existing and emerging regulatory Product Stewardship and Regulatory issues and their impact on the businesses; monitors information sources; translates regulatory impacts into options to support business and corporate strategies and implements compliance programs.

Provides regulatory assistance/input in various business support activities including product stewardship reviews, customer inquiry responses, business strategy, new product development and business acquisitions and divestitures.

Strategic advisor to all business units for complex scenarios, responding to internal inquiries addressing non-routine compliance as well as non-routine salability interpretations.

Responds independently to European/national regulation compliance inquiries and provides technical regulatory input to routine registration / license to sell questions.

Represent DuPont with external parties including regulators (particularly EU ECHA), industry trade groups such as Cefic, NGOs, etc - offers comments directly or through industry associations to advocate DuPont’s position with our external stakeholders.  

Identify & engage External Services Providers as needed for work that cannot be supported internally due to gaps in capacity or technical experience.

Additional responsibilities

Supports other colleagues in the regional and global teams as necessary to meet local regulatory compliance requirementsResponsible for developing and delivering trainings on regulatory requirements and compliance programs to internal customers (Product Stewardship and Regulatory, business, operations resources, etc.)

Qualifications:

Masters or Doctorate degree in relevant field of study (e.g., environmental science, biology, chemistry, chemical engineering, toxicology) or equivalent and 5-8 years of experience in a product safety / regulatory affairs or related areaBroad knowledge and proven field experience with chemical substance regulations (ie., REACH), regulatory reporting, global chemical inventory requirements.  Knowledge of product risk management, product stewardship, and chemistry/materials sustainability is a plus.Attention to detail with an ability to understand the interconnectivity of regulatory data.Demonstrated ability to frame and manage effectively a large quantity of complex work using risk-based methodologies.Proven ability to appreciate the business and technical requirements required for success.Demonstrated ability to participate in diverse, multi-functional and cross-geographic teams and networks.Demonstrated ability to lead projects and utilize creative problem-solving skills, proposing solutions to resolve issues in a sustainable, sound, safe and cost effective manner.Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability.  Must be able to quickly adapt to and accept a changing environmentKnowledge of SAP would be an advantageDemonstrated learning agility.  Must be able to learn and use new systems/tools, methodologies and processes, while not jeopardizing quality.Must take responsibility and ownership for timely decisions, actions/non-action and results.Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification desired
