Product Supply Chain Leader (Assistant Manager)

Job Summary

The Product SupplyChain Leader (PSCL) has responsibility for driving the development and implementation of global & regional supply chain plans, initiatives and activities that drive flawless NPD and Cost Optimization programs. This position also has responsibility for working across a highly matrixed organization of Product Managers, Supplier Development Organizations and Tactical Purchasing managers (production and inventory controls) to meet the COST, QUALITY, DELIVERY, SPEED and CASH targets for the manufacturing plants and fulfillment centers and delivering the Net SavingsTargets for the business for the selected categories

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

General Supply Chain: Understand/ Design: Understand the cost drivers for the categories of materials & services. Identify potential suppliers and Leverage Competition among suppliers. Evaluate and Implement Make V/S Buy opportunities. Able to develop "partners of choice" relationships with the preferred strategic suppliers in line with the Category Strategy and Supplier Development. Plan for growth and capacity requirements, leverage on supplier capabilities for on-time-to-market, cost and launch readiness. Align Suppliers to the Strategy by completing due diligence on any new suppliers and finalize the panel of suppliers to invite to drive cost reduction programs. Controls & Buyout Spend Tensioning for customer projects: Drive the ISV front end teams to use suppliers on AVL. Support ISV front end teams to engage supply base during quotation stage to negotiate price, ensure supplier capacity and the compliance to requested qualifications.  Drive negotiations with suppliers during the project execution phase. Ensure ISV front end teams have available products pricing for quotation related purposes. Maintain close collaboration with Product Management, Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing Engineering departments while working to gain applicable supplier approvals for Controls & Buyout suppliers. Maintain close communication with supplier performance engineers on supplier performance and hold Business Reviews with key suppliers. Keep a regular check on the spend by suppliers and develop plans to reduce the purchasing cost by applying different levers as negotiation, strategic sourcing, VAVE. Controls & Buyout Category Management: Responsible for Savings/ Containment Targets for the business by delivering cost reduction programs. BOM Cost Reduction Analysis and create RFP / RFQ documents for the products in CBO category. Drive Sourcing Projects. Complete Initial RFQ Analysis and prepare a TCO (Total Cost Of Ownership) Model and review with Partners to evaluate cost down opportunity. Lead cross functional teams through the progress of the sourcing projects & organize projects’ gate reviews with stakeholders. Complete Cost Tensioning using E-Sourcing as tool of choice. Set up dual or multi-source if new product demand exceeds supply and manage RCCP. Contract management with suppliers to manage relationship and minimize risks to the business. Partner with Supplier Development Teams to optimize the supply network and resolve supplier performance issues.  Support product costing and standard cost roll-up by maintaining the correct contracted buy prices in the ERP system.

For This Role, You Will Need:

Relevant qualification in Supply Chain, Engineering, Technical or Business administration. Fluency in English. Strong negotiation and project management skills Capability in planning and analytics, structured problem solving, facilitating and presentation skills. Persuasive communication, influencing & negotiation skills (internally and externally).

 

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

Knowledge of end-to-end supply chain management, global/ best cost country (BCC) sourcing  Experience in lean manufacturing preferred. Experience with core software applications (ERP), preferably with SAP or Oracle  Microsoft Office skills. Successful record of accomplishment
