Product Support Engineer Intern

The Role:

Proofpoint is seeking an Intern Product Support Engineer for our Enterprise level products. Our team of Product Support Engineers are highly experienced in providing excellent customer support, continuously interacting with our customers through complex, system-level problem escalations/resolutions in a fast-paced environment. The role is ideal for those who are passionate about engaging with customers and possess an understanding of email administration and security, however we will consider broader experience gained in many technical environments.

Product training is provided on our market-leading cybersecurity solutions. This role will also give exposure to other areas of the Proofpoint organisation like Technical Account Management and Engineering. Flexible interview appointments are available after 5pm with our interview team. We also offer a Hybrid working environment.

Your day-to-day:

Work alongside experienced engineers to provide frontline support to administrators & enterprise-level partners during the hours of 1pm to 10pm from Monday to Friday (hours may differ depending on customer demand and business need)Provide troubleshooting and technical support of complex technical issues constantly communicating with customers via phone, web-based tools and emailAdvise customers regarding the product's proper use and address specific systems issuesContribute on our ongoing projects designed to modernize our support offeringsContribute to our internal and external knowledgebase articles and documentation, designed to help our customers resolve issues quickly

What you bring to the team:

Experience in a technical support/helpdesk environment from industrial placement year or since graduatingExperience/knowledge of problem analysis and resolution of software problemsAbility to interact with customers professionally across all interfacesA team player who can collaborate effectively and assist where neededAbility to excel in a fast-paced, agile environment where critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills are required for successAbility to develop as subject matter expert in areas of Proofpoint technologiesProven ability to function in a self-directed environment and to collaborate with team members

Nice to have:

Experience AND/OR knowledge with Email Systems, Networking and DNS is beneficialExperience with Linux is beneficialInnovative thinker who is positive, proactive, and readily embraces change

Candidate Profile:

You have the ability and interest in working full time (a maximum of 35 hours/week) in our Cork, Ireland office or remotely. You are a recent graduate and are successfully maintaining an above average GPA. This internship is scheduled to start immediately and run for a total of 9 months.
