**DESCRIPTION**
This entry-level professional role is ideal for candidates with a background in engineering principles and design practices, focusing on complete product lifecycle management of drivetrain products. The position supports customer application engineering, manufacturing plants, and field reliability. With knowledge of automotive parts design, GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and DFMEA, the Product Systems Design Engineer optimizes design concepts and mechanical specifications across cross-functional requirements, considering cost, weight, performance, reliability, durability, manufacturing, assembly, and serviceability.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Investigate and address field-based or VPI (Value Package Introduction) program issues, document findings, and own problem resolution from a design perspective.
+ Apply critical design processes and tools like iDFMEA, DVA, GD&T, CREO, and ANSYS Workbench to support high-quality decision-making.
+ Coordinate with cross-functional teams and senior designers to communicate design intent through design review packages.
+ Make informed design decisions on concept selection and specifications for PPT, VPI, or VPCR initiatives, with a focus on meeting customer needs.
+ Independently execute established processes while continuing to develop technical knowledge, involving occasional coordination of work among technicians or student employees.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Experience:**
+ 3-5 years of experience in engineering or relevant technical disciplines, with hands-on knowledge of MS Office and CREO tools.
+ **Skills and Competencies:**
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
+ Proficiency in GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and DFMEA.
+ Ability to work collaboratively across teams and communicate effectively.
+ Strong attention to detail with a focus on design quality and customer needs.
+ Knowledge in product configuration, change management, and lifecycle processes is a plus.
