PRODUCTION AGRONOMIST, (BASED IN MODIMOLLE, LIMPOPO PROVINCE)

Purpose of the Position

To ensure that the required amount of good quality and genetically pure seed is produced by Growers in the required volumes at the right time.

Necessary Planning for Position

Planning of area, targets, planting, de-tasseling, purification, inspections, gathering and delivery of the harvest in own areaTime and area management

Deadlines

Recruiting and contracting of GrowersRequesting of parent seedAdvice and help to the grower concerning the timing of planting, detasseling etc.SANSOR and Phytosanitary registrationsReaping and delivery of productionsDocumentationData capturing

Degree of Supervision (how often, by whom)

Regular communication with the manager by means of various platforms.

Working Conditions

Safe handling of chemically treated seedThe job requires a lot of traveling with a fair amount of risk in some areaCompliance to the safety, health, ethical and other core values of the company.

Minimum qualifications: National Diploma in Agriculture or B-TechIdeal: BSc in AgricultureMinimum legal requirements:  Driver’s LicenseDesired work experience: 3 years in a seed production related environmentDesired training (1): Completion of SANSOR theoretical courses and be authorised as an inspectorDesired training (2): Completion of SANSOR Phytosanitary course and be authorised as a Phytosanitary inspector
