Production Associate
**Job Title: Production Associate** **Job Description** Possibility to work in one of the different departments including Mix Department, Press Operator, Kiln/Oven Operator, Finishing, and Shipping. **Responsibilities** + Mix Department: + Follow recipe to ensure accurate mix instructions for the job. + Identify correct raw materials required. + Measure raw material by weighing on a scale and placing in a mixing container. + Load raw material into bins and maintain inventory levels. + Mix the ingredients according to work instructions. + Press Operator: + Check work instruction to ensure accurate settings for job. + Identify and locate proper material thickness and gauge. + Run production as instructed on a variety of machinery and equipment. + Visually inspect parts to ensure parts are within the defined specifications to meet quality standards before moving to the next station. + Check product against plan using assigned gaging. + Kiln/Oven Operator: + Check work instruction to ensure proper setting and placement of product in kilns/ovens. + Identify and place product in proper kiln or oven. + Fire kiln/oven as required following SOP for proper firing. + Visually inspect parts to ensure parts are within the defined specifications to meet quality standards before moving to the next station. + Participate in activities to increase personal skill level, overall departmental processes, and product quality. + Finishing: + Finish parts on specific machines according to work instructions and blueprint. + Operate machines according to SOP. + Visually inspect product for burrs, damage, rust, and other defects. + Measure product using prescribed gaging. + Identify the need for and complete tool changes as needed. + Inform management of any maintenance issues or problems related to a job. + Timely and accurate completion of all paperwork associated with production parts. + Verify piece count and traceability of product. + Shipping: + Prepare product for shipment according to work instructions. + Inform management of any maintenance issues or problems related to a job. + Timely and accurate completion of all paperwork associated with production parts. + Maintain organized and clean work area. + Communicate all problems and other work-related issues with supervisors or Lead. + Receive, understand, and follow all written and oral instructions. + Comply with all company policies and procedures including safety and attendance requirements. + Resolve day-to-day issues by working effectively with others. + Other duties required to meet company needs as assigned by supervisors or Lead. **Essential Skills** + Production + General labor + General production + Machine operation + Inspection **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Good vision required with or without correction. + Ability to use hands 100% of the workday. + Ability to stand and/or walk 100% of the workday. + Ability to bend, stoop, or twist 50% of the workday. + Ability to exert physical force to push, pull, lift, or carry 55 lbs regularly. **Why Work Here?** Union Facility. Steel-toe reimbursement when permanent. **Work Environment** 3rd shift - Sunday - Thursday 10:30pm - 7am. Will train on first shift for about 6 weeks Monday - Friday 7am - 3:30pm. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Salem, Illinois. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
