Production Associate / Assembler (Afternoon Shift)

POSITION: Production Associate
Reports to: Cell Team Leader


POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Work as part of a team along the production line to manually assemble mechanical and electronic components of complex and high-density products.


RESPONSIBLITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Manual assembly of Electronic components including complex and high-density projects according to assembly books, custom specs and quality standardsEnsure full compliance with all applicable quality assurance standards and internal SOPsComponent preparation, placement or installationPerform hand soldering and rework of all thru-hole, SMT, mixed and mechanical assemblies and custom parts as per Engineering specifications and IPC workmanship standardsFinal assembly and/or pack and ship as requiredParticipate in training and certification programs to ensure job knowledge and skills set requirements are met and updated regularlyParticipate in all team level quality improvement initiatives, including Root Cause analysis as requiredOperate various types of equipment aiding in the assembly processSet-up, operate, calibrate and maintain test station as per procedure.Complete test logs and provide feedback related to test yields.Test the functionality of products using various testing tools, document and provide feedback to team members to prevent future discrepancies.Utilize test equipment such as multimeters, among others including PC based programming.Effectively communicate issues among other team members for prevention and corrections.Ability to install, mount, fasten, align and adjust parts, components, wiring and harnesses to sub-assemblies and assemblies.Ability to work independently or with others cooperatively in a team environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Color identification is a requirement of this roleAbility to use hand toolsAbility to comprehend assembly documentation / procedure and interpret correctly, and perform actionA team player with good communication skills (ability to work with customer), and a positive attitude.Previous experience working in the following are an asset (but not limited to): SMT/TH or Mix Tech assembly (hand soldering, inspection, rework, mechanical assembly skills); Worked in Electronics or Manufacturing companies; Soldering TH and SMT componentsRework mechanical/electrical assemblies (replacing components)Set-up, maintenance, and calibration of test stationsComputer literacy (Excel, Word, Test Software)

Working Environment Conditions

Physical Demands: The incumbent must be fit and possess sufficient strength to safely maneuver around archived materials up to 40lbs without injury to themselves or others. Ability to stand for long period of time based on assembly taskMental Demands: The position involves an above average degree of attention and minimal mental stress in an environment where interruptions may be ongoing.Working Conditions: The working environment is generally clean; however, the incumbent may be exposed to occasionally dust. The incumbent is required to wear safety clothing and gears while working in safety sensitive areas. Otherwise, office/business casual attire is appropriate
