Production Control Specialist

Job Summary: 

Reviews/creates production/shipping schedules and prepares component orders accordingly. Collaborates with suppliers and customers. Maintains/exceeds target inventory levels and ensures zero inventories at product Phase-Out.  

Responsibilities:

Understands ordering requirements based on customer EDI through ERP technology. Places and tracks orders through EDI, while supporting a strong and leveled production plan. Leads meetings to track any issues with suppliers and customers. Responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy both physically and in CIGMA. Participates in Phase Out program, concentrating on communications with production personnel and parts suppliers to achieve zero dead stock at EOP. Identifies inventory accuracy problems through various reports, cycle counts, and logical analytics, Maintains inventory control procedures and work instructions. Assist to create new packaging and shipping specification manuals and maintains packaging manuals.  Works with customers, and all internal/external stakeholders to satisfy customer requirements.  Works with production and purchasing to improve existing packaging (productivity and/or cost down opportunities). Develops part-specific packaging specifications. Investigates inventory accuracy problem areas by cycle counting and adjusting as needed. Coordinates corrective action process with all stakeholders based on the results of inventory investigations. Reports various performance measures of inventory record accuracy for management review. Takes lead and tracks progress on NPI, ECI, PCN and phase out activities. Assists training in planning department. Ensures compliance with all TS-16949 and ISO-14001 requirements. Improve production control processes through kaizen activities and other PDCA methods. Understands and follows all 5s requirements. May be required to perform additional duties as assigned.

Quality / Environmental Roles and Responsibilities:

Follows all procedures and work instructions and make recommendations to improve the process.  Notifies Leader immediately upon detecting any non-conformances. Records all non-conformances and leads corrective action activities to prevent reoccurrence. Communicates and practices DMNC’s Quality and Environmental Management Systems.  Takes an active role in achieving and maintaining TS-16949 and ISO-14001.

Knowledge, Skills and Education Required:

Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field. 0-3 years of direct experience. A combination of degree and experience can be considered.  Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proven analytical skills. Experience with ERP and/or MRP II software systems.  Deep understanding of Microsoft apps such as but not limited to Excel, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint, ETC. Demonstrated interpersonal skills. Supply chain experience related to TPS.

Working Conditions:

Works in both office and manufacturing plant environments.  May move, lift, or carry objects weighing up to 35 lbs.

 Annual Salary: $58,000-$72,000
