Clariant is a leading specialty chemical company that creates innovative and sustainable solutions for customers across various industries. We are seeking a Production Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will engage in managing product and process lines by developing procedures, control plans, recipes, and bills of materials. As a Production Engineer, you'll oversee daily production changes to maintain quality and support plant engineers with OEE analysis.
Responsibilities
You will lead structured problem-solving by assessing production issues, conducting root cause analysis, and developing technical and process solutions for implementation. Be responsible for driving operational excellence in focus areas such as yield, productivity, and quality. This involves coaching on best practices, identifying, and eliminating waste using lean principles, and leading continuous improvement projects using the DMAIC framework. While leading in-process quality management you will develop SPC log sheets, train operators on SPC, create visual KPI metrics, and develop solutions to reduce process variation and improve predictability. You'll act as a gatekeeper for changes that may affect product performance, considering safety, quality, productivity, environmental, and equipment integrity implications.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Chemical Engineering highly preferred). 2+ years of experience in Chemical Manufacturing. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality management, lean principles, and continuous improvement methodologies. Proficient computer skills (SAP, Minitab), Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt preferred. Strong leadership and coaching skills would be a plus. Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) with the ability to interact with multiple business segments.
