Sr Production Engineer- Network Modelling- Cairo, Egypt.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Production Engineer specializing in modelling oil and gas networks. This role will focus on designing, optimizing, and simulating the operation of oil and gas infrastructure networks, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and safety. The ideal candidate will have expertise in network modelling, reservoir engineering, production systems, and a deep understanding of the oil and gas industry.
Duties and responsibilities:
Network Modelling & Simulation:
• Develop, maintain, and update nodal based models for oil and gas production networks, including pipelines, gathering systems, and facilities.
• Use advanced software tools (e.g., IPM, PipeSim, OLGA, PVTsim) to simulate the performance and behavior of oil and gas production systems.
• Work closely with Reservoir Engineering to creating fully integrated model for gas forecasting and field performance.
• Perform sensitivity analysis to assess the impact of different operational parameters on network performance.
Production Optimization / Operational Support:
• Optimize production operations by analyzing network performance and identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce downtime, and improve throughput.
• Collaborate with production teams to develop strategies for improving oil and gas recovery while minimizing operational costs.
• Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and recommend improvements in network operations.
• Provide technical support during field operations, troubleshooting issues and recommending corrective actions based on modeling outputs.
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to network performance, including production rates, pressure drops, and flow assurance.
System Design and Integration:
• Contribute to the design of production systems, landing pressure at facilities, and infrastructure ensuring optimal integration and performance for current and future wells.
• Assist in the selection and specification of equipment such as pumps, compressors, and valves for optimal performance within the network.
Collaboration and Reporting:
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including reservoir engineers, geologists, and field operators, to ensure that network models align with real-world production conditions and optimization goals.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations to communicate findings, recommendations, and performance metrics to senior management and stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
• 8-10 years of experience in Petroleum Engineering related disciplines, with a minimum of 3 years of direct experience in Oil & Gas Network modelling and optimization.
• Bachelor degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline; preferably chemical, mechanical or petroleum engineering.
• Hands-on experience with IPR/VLP and network simulation and modeling software (e.g., IPM Suite, PipeSim, OLGA, PVTsim, etc.).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, as well as optimization techniques.
