Production engineers work closely with our product development teams to guide their service development and identify the most valuable areas to improve. You would join a small, tight-knit group of engineers who build exciting new technology and have fun while doing so.DescriptionDescriptionOur team works on evolving a set of innovative tools and services that directly affect the productivity of Apple’s developers. You’ll develop software to make it easier and more effective for teams to run their services reliably at scale. You’ll find ways to combine our unique problem domain with established techniques related to large-scale cloud services, enabling developers to work efficiently at a high standard of quality. By working with teams and services across the organization, you’ll help shape their best practices and decide which projects you can deliver next for the greatest impact. Your code will help to improve existing services while blazing new paths working with Apple’s technology stack. You will be most successful here as a flexible and proactive engineer who thrives in a supportive, respectful, and balanced work environment with exciting and challenging problems to tackle. You bring energy and a desire to learn into our existing small group. You work well across teams to create solutions that work for everyone. In your role as a production engineer on our team, you will: - Build and maintain scalable and reliable systems that meet the needs of our customers. - Develop software tools to help teams at Apple run reliable services in domains including production observability, deployments, and overload protection. - Collaborate with development teams to identify and address system bottlenecks, performance issues, resource inefficiencies, scalability concerns, and opportunities for automation. - Engage with other teams to establish long-term relationships that include knowledge sharing. - Develop expertise and be given ownership over components critical to Apple’s success. - Help to design new ways to scale Apple’s distributed developer tools and services to ever-increasing problem sizes. - Have access to the engineers who create Apple’s full technology, tools, and operating systems stack.
