Production Engineering and Petrophysics Manager (Chevron ENGINE)

About the position:

The Production Engineering and Petrophysics Manager will supervise practitioners in both petrophysical interpretation workflows and production engineering analysis and modeling. Responsible for overseeing the technical work, competency & development planning for the group members. The role will need to collaborate closely with chapter managers in Chevron Technical Center to maintain workflow alignment. The ideal candidate has both skillsets, but candidates with either production engineering or petrophysical expertise will be considered. Over the longer-term this position will likely become more specialized in one of the two disciplines.

Key responsibilities:

Provide project and resource management for a wide variety of production engineering and petrophysical projects from worldwide operations, ranging from pre-drill to late phase operations for production engineering and from exploration to detailed field studies for petrophysics

A proficient user of production engineering modeling tools and have demonstrated skills to build and calibrate well, network, and reservoir models to recommend production optimization efforts

Apply skills and experience in well performance optimization, well modeling and flow assurance, including the optimization of artificial lift and well stimulation, across a broad range of reservoir types

Ability to conduct petrophysical interpretation of various well-logging technologies with experience in open hole and cased hole analysis, a solid understanding of petrophysical applications of rock mechanics, as well as foundational skills such as mineral analysis

Required qualification:

BS and MS in Earth science disciplines (Geology, Geophysics, Geomechanics) or Petroleum Engineering

Experience in hands-on production engineering modeling or petrophysical interpretation

Experienced in multiple reservoir types and proficient in a wide range of production engineering and/or petrophysical analysis techniques
