Primary Function:

\n\n\n\n\n

The Evisceration Associate performs tasks to clean and eviscerate (remove the organs of) recently slaughtered turkeys to prepare for secondary and further processing.

\n\n\n\n\n

Essential Duties, Functions & Responsibilities

\n\n\n\n\n

·         Perform varying manual, repetitive tasks to remove organs and parts from slaughtered turkeys

\n

·         Perform repetitive tasks with assistance of tools, such as knives and scissors, to remove organs and parts from slaughtered turkeys

\n

·         Train to proficiency to rotate through jobs and perform multiple tasks within the department

\n

·         Perform any job in the department at the supervisor’s discretion

\n\n\n\n\n

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Characteristics

\n\n\n\n\n

·         Ability to follow all facility rules, regulations, and guidelines, including but not limited to attendance policy, safety policies, USDA regulations, and GMPs

\n

·         Ability to learn assigned tasks as required and meet performance specifications Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

\n

·         Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Working Conditions

\n\n\n\n\n

·         Assigned job duties may change and vary day-to-day depending upon production needs

\n

·         Department temperature fluctuates according to season (i.e., colder in winter, warmer in summer)

\n

·         Damp-to-wet conditions in the area

\n

·         Loud/noisy environment (86 – 99 dB)

\n

·         Exposure to raw meat and associated parts, including but not limited to organs, blood, and feces

\n\n\n\n\n

Physical Requirements

\n\n\n\n\n

·         Standing for up to four (4) hours at a time (time between breaks, and then from last break until end of shift)

\n

·         Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to sixty (60) pounds

\n

·         Ability to grip, grasp, and lift repetitively through the course of the workday

\n

·         Ability to wear all personal protective equipment (PPE) and hygiene equipment, including but not limited to bump cap/hard hat, steel-toed footwear, hearing protection, smock, and gloves

\n\n\n\n\n

Minimum Qualifications

\n\n\n\n\n

·         No minimum education requirement

\n

·         No previous work experience required

\n

·         Must be at least eighteen (18) years old

\n

·         Must be eligible to work legally in the United States

\n\n\n\n\n
