Position SummaryWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Production Intern to support our Continuous Improvement and Industrial Systems initiatives. This internship is ideal for students with strong problem-solving skills, demonstrated leadership experience, and a desire to explore a future career in the Oklahoma City area. The intern will work primarily in the Production department, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to enhance processes and drive efficiency. The dates of the internship will be May 19, 2025, thru August 8, 2025. The intern will be paired with a dedicated mentor for guidance and professional growth. Regular one-on-one coaching sessions will provide ongoing support, feedback, and educational opportunities. Projects will include tangible metrics and goals designed to yield measurable results, enhancing the intern’s learning experience.Position Responsibilities include, but not limited toWork alongside the Production team on workflow optimizationContribute to process mapping, time studies, and bottleneck evaluationsProvide insights on system performance and recommend corrective actionsAssist with data collection and analysis to identify areas for process optimizationParticipate in root-cause analyses, brainstorming sessions, and Kaizen eventsImplement small-scale improvement projects under guidance from experienced engineersPartner with Quality, Safety, and other relevant departments to ensure holistic process improvementsCommunicate findings, project updates, and results to stakeholdersLeverage prior leadership experience (Resident Assistant, class officer, campus organization officer, etc.) to coordinate small project teamsGain hands-on industry experience through one-on-one coaching sessions with an assigned mentorRequired Skills and ExperienceCurrently a junior or senior (at time of internship) pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering & Management, or a related disciplineMinimum GPA of 3.0Excellent analytical and problem-solving skillsEffective communication and teamwork abilitiesPriority given to students attending college in OklahomaPreferred Skills and ExperienceBasic familiarity with process improvement principles (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)Students who have roots in the Oklahoma City area and are interested in starting a career in OKC after graduationPhysical RequirementsRegularly required to use hands to feel, grab, or operate objects, tools, and controls while reaching with hands and armsFrequently required to stand, communicate, and listenOccasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel or crouchOccasionally lift and/or move up to 50 poundsVisual perception to perform job including peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focusAble to perform repetitive movementsAble to work in variable temperatures (cold/hot)
