Summary of the Position:
The production lead coordinates work for department workers and assists department supervisor.
Functions of the Position:
% of Time Essential (E) or Marginal (M) Functions Performed
20% E Oversees machine operators work load and scheduling.
15% E Helps machine operator ensuring machines are running properly.
15% E Trains new employees.
10% E Supplies equipment to line workers.
5% E Requests maintenance to repair machines as needed.
5% E Requests work orders from scheduling.
5% E Requests product from warehouse.
5% M Makes pallet ID’s, tickets, and case labels.
5% M Packs samples for marketing and sales.
5% E Checks work order accuracy.
5% E Monitors department’s quality control.
5% E Fills in for machine operators or supervisor, as needed.
Continually · Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following current good manufacturing practices, allergen/sanitation controls, food defense/food fraud, HACCP/FSMA, SQF, and regulatory requirements. · Aware and accountable for maintaining and documenting preventative controls necessary to ensure food safety and quality. · Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to management. · Responsible for partnering with others, sharing knowledge, skills and information within assigned team and across functional areas. · Responsible for enhancing technical and functional
competencies, as well as professional and leadership development. · Responsible to comply with all safety policies and procedures established for health and workplace safety. · Responsible to support safety culture by practicing safe work behaviors, reporting potential hazards, and conducting safety observations.

Qualifications:
Education, Experience, and Knowledge:
· One year of experience in department preferred (as a machine operator).

Job Specific Requirements:
This position is subject to mandatory overtime based on business needs.
In the event that the production lead is absent, the department manager is responsible for providing an equally qualified person to cover this position.
