Pay Range $29.24 - $30.24
The Production Leadhand provides lead support and is responsible for employee safety and productivity for production employees on designated shift. Additionally, this position is accountable for ensuring production volume is executed in a timely manner and meets/exceeds quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and monitor daily production activities to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures for safety, quality, and compliance.Inspect products for quality and direct equipment setup and adjustments.Coordinate production runs to meet customer order volumes with minimal over-runs.Complete required documentation (e.g., production records, sanitation schedules, root cause analyses).Enter production data into ERP systems (SAP).Support training efforts for new hires, transfers, and safety procedures.Recommend improvements to processes, equipment, and product quality.Assist with changeovers and CIP/SIP procedures.Participate in internal and external audits.Provide scheduling support and coverage for team member absences and breaks.Collaborate across departments to ensure smooth operations.Promote and enforce company policies and safety programs.Uphold Saputo’s values and code of ethics.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.1–3 years of equipment operation experience, preferably in dairy or food manufacturing.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems; SAP experience preferred.Strong technical aptitude with equipment controls and mechanical operations.Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate a team.Understanding of cost containment and budget principles.Flexibility to work weekends and varied shifts as needed.Physical Requirements
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, temperature changes, and chemicals.Frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs without assistance.Standing, walking, bending, and climbing stairs throughout the shift.Willingness to work up to 12-hour shifts, including nights and weekends.You’re a Great Fit If You…
