Job Description
The Production & Lean Manufacturing Supervisor will be responsible for Linear Department personnel and Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost results while leading and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. The individual will work in coordination with Product Engineers, Production Planner, Assembly Production Supervisor and LTS Production Manager to ensure execution of tasks and milestones.
Responsibilities:
· Ensures Safety of all Linear Department personnel and immediately addresses any safety concern.
· Ensures Quality of product built in the Linear Department and re-prioritizes work if product must be put on hold for quality department review/disposition.
· Achievement of Delivery and Cost goals in the Linear Department; ensuring adherence to standard work and manufacturing instructions.
· Leads continuous improvement efforts, including development of standard work, balancing of operator loading, execution of time studies and implementation of 6S initiatives.
· Leads manufacturing problem solving efforts, investigates process failures and implements corrective actions in support of all shifts.
· Implements Lean methodologies including point of use tooling, material presentation, waste elimination and process improvements.
· Trains and mentors assigned personnel on EBOS, ISO procedures, manufacturing documentation and continuous improvement.
· Supports Linear Transfer Systems team with production results tracking and identification / implementation of countermeasures to improve performance.
· Responsible for accurate time clock reporting of assigned personnel and timecard approvals.
· Ensures accuracy of inventory in production areas and supports weekly cycle counting of product.
· Interfaces with production personnel including operators, quality inspectors, and product engineers.
Requirements:
· The successful candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of project, manufacturing or related engineering experience.
· Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects
· Proven history of effective people leadership & development
· Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems
· Established project management skills with the ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
· Understanding of Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing practices and in-depth understanding of ERP/MRP planning systems
· Excellent verbal and presentation skills suitable for interaction with production team and with various level of management
· Strong skills in MS Windows – Excel, Word and Power-point. Familiar with and able to work in MS Project.
