POSITION SUMMARY:
Material handlers ensure production areas are fully stocked and have the products they need to fulfill orders and move quickly. A material handler maintains production and distribution of product by pulling orders from inventory; delivering production materials and supplies; staging finished product.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform duties assigned by Department Lead.Understand the functionality of a BOM (Bill of Materials).Identify parts by part number and by sight.Locate and deliver (without assistance) needed material to work stations as required by production schedule.Locate and return (without assistance) excess materials to stock.Understand and perform production reporting functions.Scale count finished products and packages.Accurately label finished goods as needed.Complete daily cycle counts.Maintain picking levels as required.Separate scrap in the weigh station as required.Consistently maintain a clean work area.Competencies and Skills:
Good communication skills.Good organizational, scheduling, and time management skills.Understand and comply with company safety standards and federal regulations.Must be a team player across departments.Good knowledge of use of scales, strong understanding of weight and measure principles.Qualifications:
Safely operate mobile inventory vehicles (forklifts, cherry pickers, etc) and either have or obtain an operators permit.Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift 10 – 20 lbs. occasionally.Must be able to lift 20 – 40 lbs. frequently.Must be able to easily grasp packages, products, and other materials.Work Environment:
