SUMMARY

A working line supervisor is responsible for directly overseeing a team of production workers on a manufacturing line, ensuring efficient operations by assigning tasks, monitoring quality, enforcing safety standards, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining production targets while actively participating in the hands-on work on the line themselves. The salary range is $58,000 - $70,000 annually.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Coordinate and direct the activities of the department to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining quality and promoting safety, housekeeping 5S, and employee morale.
Ensure all Job-related accidents or injuries are reported by those responsible and take appropriate corrective action in an expeditious manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned.) and Percent of Time
Recommend equipment upgrades, staffing adjustments, and process
modifications: 10%
Inspect product to verify product standards and specifications are met: 10%
Manage attendance and track absenteeism: 5%
Participate and help drive continuous improvement projects and culture
throughout the plant: 10%
Provide technical and behavioral coaching and development to employees through
1:1s, performance reviews, and team meetings: 15%
Work on the production line: 50%
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position leads by example. This position has an understanding of employee strengths, development opportunities, and identifies areas for focus – including employee development and machine capacity. This is a 40+ hour per week, salaried position, exempt from OT.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED
2+ years leading/supervising a team
Successful experience in employee training and development including that of peers and subordinates
Mechanical aptitude a plus
Lean Manufacturing knowledge a plus
COMPUTER AND OTHER SKILLS
Proficient user in MS Office suite. Regular use of e-mail, excel, and Word.

Technical aptitude
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Strong verbal and written communication skills. The individual must be able to interface with co-workers, internal departments, service providers, and customers in a fast paced environment that requires multi-tasking. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and standard operating procedures.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The noise level in the work environment is moderate to high production environment. This position requires ability to navigate throughout the plant, and is not a stationary position.
