Production Maintenance Mechanic
Job Title: Production Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

Responsible for maintaining all types of production equipment used in an industrial baking plant. Work with conveyor belt systems, heaters, ovens, mixers, rolling systems, and basic heating and cooling systems. Fabricate replacement parts for machinery with basic bench top tools and welding equipment. Work off a daily checklist for preventative tasks and perform emergency maintenance as needed. Document all work as required in a Food Production Facility. Use appropriate materials and supplies on the correct machinery. Assist operators during changeovers and troubleshoot issues before production runs.

ResponsibilitiesMaintain production equipment in an industrial baking plant.Work with conveyor belt systems, heaters, ovens, mixers, and rolling systems.Perform basic heating and cooling system maintenance.Fabricate replacement parts using bench top tools and welding equipment.Complete daily preventative maintenance tasks and emergency repairs.Document all maintenance activities in accordance with Food Production Facility standards.Use appropriate materials and supplies for different machinery.Assist operators during changeovers (two changeovers/day).Troubleshoot issues during the 'test run' period before adding dough.Undergo a 5-6 month training period shadowing main maintenance technicians.Essential SkillsMechanical aptitude and knowledge of gears, conveyors, bearings, and bushings.Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.Electrical knowledge, including wiring, troubleshooting shorts and surges, and working with VFDs and PLC systems.Ability to perform basic metal fabrication, including drilling, finishing, and welding.High attention to detail, especially in completing logs and using food grade materials.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with automated or production equipment is preferred.Automotive experience is applicable.Understanding of wiring, including positive/negative/ground wires.Experience with troubleshooting and editing PLC input/output systems.Why Work Here?

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $35.00/hr.
