The Opportunity

Our location in Scarborough, ME currently has an opportunity for a Production Maintenance Supervisor.   This role will supervise the maintenance department technician’s daily activities to ensure that day to day maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with company standards.

What You’ll Work On

Daily supervision of the maintenance department.Coordinates support and resources for production and non-production work activities.Appraises the performance of direct reports, including annual performance reviews.Participates in, or assigns a designee to support, new equipment purchases, design modifications, and validation efforts as necessary or requested.Leads routine, periodic, and special inspections to determine repairs needed or corrective actions to prevent breakdowns, unsafe conditions, or to comply with company and agency rules and regulations.Performs production equipment change-overs as dictated by the schedule or requested by the shift supervisor to best meet departmental objectives.Interprets blueprints, equipment manuals, layouts, and wiring diagrams.Leads the effort of preparing documentation regarding preventive maintenance and machine operation through effective communication and collaboration with production supervisors, managers, and engineering.Sets up and operates all equipment needed to perform assigned tasks.Escorts and assists outside repair personnel as necessary in the performance of their contractual obligations. Escorts agency testing technicians to ensure timely completion of their tasks related to production equipment.Maintains appropriate records and keeps inventory of spare parts and shop materials to effect proper repairs on all equipment.Responds to alarms or trouble calls as required and maintains a strong floor presence.Functions as a key member of both the production and maintenance teams and assists as necessary to accomplish production goals and throughput.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises employees in Production Maintenance. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Required Qualifications ​

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of experience and education.5+ years’ experience as an electromechanical technician, experience with automation in the medical field. 5+ years of machining experience in a machine shop or equipment manufacturing environment.  Hands-on electro-mechanical repair, rebuild, field service experience.

Preferred

Technical Certificate as an Electro-Mechanical Technician, Industrial Maintenance Technician or a Technical Degree in Precision Machining and Manufacturing, Automotive Repair, or related technical field.1+ years of supervisory experience5+ years of diverse experience in high volume production setting.Prior experience working in a company operating under ISO, FDA, or similar quality systems or regulations

The base pay for this position is $31.60 – $63.20 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
