Job Summary
Plans, coordinates and administers production and maintenance activities across all shifts necessary for the production of door and frame components.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
· Provide ongoing communication link across multiple shifts of operation.
· Monitors raw materials and finished products to apply and maintain quality standards according to specifications.
· Effectively utilize all available means to meet production schedules.
· Establish and control systems and procedures for monitoring and accurately reporting production inventories and shipping and receiving.
· Stimulate a full spirit of cooperation with in department and all other departments by utilizing employee involvement techniques.
· Identity training needs of production, supervision and setup training plans.
· Arrange for temporary reassignment of work force (supervisors, maintenance and direct labor) in the event of workforce absenteeism.
· Initiate methods or programs for elimination of variances in efficiency, scrap, rework, performance, maintenance downtime and other downtime.
· Foster involvement of all employees in an organized program of continuous improvement in quality and operations.
· Setup timetable for proper care of equipment and tools and inform the proper people when these services or facilities are needed.
· Locate and eliminate bottlenecks and make changes in people or equipment that will smooth out the flow of action.
· Coordinate and communicate production schedules in a way that all operations meet established standards; work standards, quality standards behavior standards and get efficiency and productivity
· Promote and develop teamwork and group spirit in a way that successfully carries out management’s intentions.
· Promote safety awareness and a safe workplace for all employees. Also, ensure compliance with environmental requirements (governmental regulations, corporate policies and plant procedures).
· Insuring housekeeping procedures are established/followed for the production floor and warehouse operations.
Education and Experience Profile
· 5-10 years in high volume manufacturing including 5+ years in supervisory role
· Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or 5+ years equivalent experience
· Bilingual (English / Spanish) is a plus but not required
Required Skills
1. Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
2. Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
3. Administration and Management — Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
4. Personnel and Human Resources — Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems.
5. Engineering and Technology — Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
6. Computers and Electronics — Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
7. Education and Training — Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.

2. Materials requirements planning logistics and supply chain software — Integrated materials management systems; Materials management software
3. Project management software — Microsoft Project
4. Time and Attendance software – Dayforce, ADP, Kronos
