Job Description

As the Production Manager, you will support and guide the Recycling Facility’s Operations team at our New London, NC location. This is a fully onsite, day shift role, typically working 6:45 AM to 4:30 PM, overseeing two production lines and managing a team of 40+ employees across four 12-hour shifts in a 24/7 operation.

In this role, you will partner closely with front-line supervisors and support teams to ensure production goals are achieved while fostering a collaborative, safe, and positive work environment. You will be responsible for creating an inclusive culture that encourages teamwork, empathy, and mutual respect.

The ideal candidate will bring strong interpersonal and management skills, a focus on accountability, and a commitment to continuous improvement through Lean manufacturing methodologies.

What You Will Be Doing:

Provide guidance and support for the Recycling Facility’s production teams, including Production Supervisors and Training Administrators.Build trust and promote collaboration by encouraging open communication and shared problem-solving across all shifts.Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring safety, quality, and production targets are consistently met while fostering a culture of mutual respect and accountability.Mentor and coach front-line managers to develop effective communication and leadership skills, supporting positive associate relationships and team development.Promote and nurture Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) initiatives, ensuring compliance and cultivating a culture of safety and well-being.Guide process improvement efforts through Lean methodologies such as root cause analysis and Kaizen events, sharing best practices to improve efficiency and cost performance.Develop and share manufacturing strategies that align with corporate goals and support team growth.Manage metrics implementation, foster a continuous improvement mindset, and ensure operational standards are met or exceeded.

QualificationsHigh School Diploma required.5+ years of management experience in a manufacturing environment.Demonstrated success in mentoring and supporting supervisors and building effective teams.Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing processes, including root cause analysis, Kaizen, and continuous improvement strategies.Proficient with Microsoft Office and other computer technologies.Proven ability to build an inclusive, positive team culture that supports associate growth and engagement while meeting production goals in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.Engineering background is a plus.

Additional Information

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $81,000 - $146,000. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
