SIGMADESIGN has collaborated with a custom manufacturer seeking an experienced Production Manager to join their facility in Estacada, OR. This company opened in 1979, and since that time has been doing quality manufacturing, machining, and assembly work for their customers. They are currently in a state of growth and have opened 4 branches in 4 years, offering advancement opportunities for their employees.

+ PTO Policy: Employees receive 40 hours of PTO after 90 days. After one year, an additional 40 hours are granted (totaling 80 hours). In the second year, another 40 hours are added (120 hours total). Each subsequent year, 8 additional hours are accrued annually until reaching a maximum of 160 hours of PTO.
+ Bonus Program: Monthly bonuses are based on delivered parts and forecast objectives, with amounts ranging from $300, $500, $700 and $1,000, depending on workload and deliverables met.
+ $93,000 - $104,000 annually
+ Monday – Friday, flexible hours
Primary Function:
The Production Manager is responsible for leading the overall management, coordination and tactical execution of all production operations. The Production Manager assists in establishing daily operational goals and objectives, and effectively communicates goals to all direct reports. They identify and lead continuous improvement efforts in the production department.
Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:
+ Ensures timely production and shipment of cost-effective, high-quality products.
+ Assist sales in quoting and planning.
+ Leads efforts to drive ongoing improvements in product cost and quality, labor productivity, manufacturing time, and personnel safety.
+ Ensures the safety of the personnel in the facility with appropriate PPE, training and assembly aides.
+ Manages production staff and the labor hours required for production.
+ Actively manages production schedules, making decisions concerning production resources and work assignments.
+ Ensures production planning meets the customer’s delivery schedule, specifications and quality assurance standards.
+ Determines training and development needs for production personnel. Ensures staff is up to date on new and updated/ revised production documents and quality assurance standards.
+ Ensures efficient use of employee resources, equipment and raw materials.
+ Responsible for the monthly reporting of key metrics and the development / implementation of action plans to meet company goals.
+ Identifies and implements improvement opportunities for production processes; including production scheduling, assembly and testing.
+ Works with Human Resources to develop employee performance evaluation, competencies, technical capabilities and skills training.
+ Champions the quality management system and promote the quality culture; address and correct quality non-compliance, based on root-cause analysis.
+ Encourages an innovative working environment while motivating, organizing and encouraging teamwork within the workforce.
+ Provide leadership by establishing clear expectations and demonstrating high standards of work practices.
+ Complete training on relevant quality procedures and understand his/her contribution to the achievement of company quality objectives.
Education and Experience: (Knowledge, skills, & abilities)
+ 5 or more years of Production or Project Management experience required.
+ 5 or more years in the manufacturing industry.
+ ERP/MRP experience a plus.
+ Competent writing, organizational and communication skills.
+ Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors and customers.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other office software programs needed to effectively create, organize and maintain large amounts of data, records, files and performance metrics.
+ Is a US Person under ITAR requirements.
+ Ability to pass background check upon acceptance of an offer.
Work Environment:
Standard machine shop environment with various types of machinery. Appropriate safety garments (PPE) must be worn. Must be able to stand and work as long as 12 hours in different positions. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
