Manufacturing Unit Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will be leading the manufacturing and molding operations teams, driving efficient and cost-effective production results in accordance with quality and service targets. Each day, you will support the business by working closely with the EHS (Environment Health and Safety), Engineering, Maintenance, and Materials leaders and teams. You will also use your expertise in driving lean production techniques, EHS activities, and planning/controlling of systems to enhance value to the organization.The work model for the role is: Onsite This role is contributing to the Electrification Installation Products division at the Manufacturing Facility in Hackettstown, NJ. You will be mainly accountable for:•\tDeveloping an annual operating budget and controlling costs including overhead expenditures related to the manufacturing process, indirect, and direct labor. •\tDeveloping improvements in areas of cost, quality, process, safety, and service to internal and external customers. •\tPartnering with engineering and maintenance managers to evaluate production processes, diagnose potential problems/issues and recommend and/or take appropriate corrective action. •\tEnsuring that operational policies/procedures and management systems are in place. •\tHiring, retaining, and developing the operations team to support the strategic manufacturing plan.

Qualifications for the role

Bachelor's degree (preferably in Engineering) and 10+ years of experience in production management.Knowledge of financial reports, operating budgets and problem solving techniques.Experience with quality and manufacturing resource planning (MRP) systems.Knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations. Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
