Directs the manufacturing environment in order to meet production, quality, and cost objectives. Determines requirements for equipment, materials, and manpower resources. Usually directs other first-line supervisors in reporting and scheduling activities.

The Production Manager is responsible for;

maintaining all production processesassigning work to Operatorstraining new and existing employees in various production aspectsmaintaining all plant equipmentenforcing all plant policies and proceduresmaintaining good plant housekeepingmaintaining process documentation, sampling, and written summary reportsreviewing employee performancecompleting corrective actions, both product and disciplinaryfinal review and sign off of production Certificate in the event that QA representation is unavailablecompleting special projectsother miscellaneous duties as assigned

In addition, management system responsibilities and authorities include:

Safety Management System requirements;

enforcing safety policies and procedures within the plantcommunicating the importance of safety policies and proceduresdisciplining employees for safety violations

Quality Management System requirements;

controlling nonconforming productcontrolling production recordscommunicating customer requirements to production personnel

Environmental System requirements;

ensuring environmental policies and procedures are followedcommunicating the importance of environmental policies and proceduresensuring wastes are handled properly

Basic Skills and Competencies:

The Production Manager must;

have a sound understanding of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures used within a manufacturing environmentshow an advanced understanding of all plant operationsshow an advanced knowledge of delegation and time management skillsbe able to ensure all plant procedures, quality systems, and safety protocols are followedcommunicate effectively with customers, the president, other employees and service providers (company employees and contracted suppliers), and other external concernshave intimate knowledge and understanding of the company’s policies and proceduresMust be Bilingual in English and SpanishMust have Lean/Continuous experienceKPI Experience - tracking, reporting, and improving processesERP and Welding experience a plus
